That's MSRP. I see they have dealer list price too. it's prob about 20% off of MSRP. If dealers get 30-40% off of list price from BMWNA then they can sell it at $3000 price range.

I want to hear this too! We should have a South Bay get together to hear how this thing sounds when it's up and running!

The unit arrives here on Wednesday. Then I need to ship it to EAS for thermal coating that week, but won't be able to have it installed until at least two weeks from today. So I may have videos up that weekend (weekend of 3/5). We can meet (you too, Dave) anytime following then.

Yup, I'll post up a video as soon as I finish the install. I wouldn't be surprised if other forum members get to it first, though.

I wouldn't put any thermal coating on inconel youre insulating a material that is designed to be exceptionally resistance to corrosion under extreme thermal conditions.

Nice! Hope you like it!

This may be one of my first mods after I order my car later in the year.

Do you foresee any negative consequences to it, or do you think it's simply wasted effort?

For what it's worth, BMW thermal coated the prototype version of this exhaust, and I appreciated that look:

What a joke, just chiming in with agreement on many of the earlier posts.

-Inconel not needed
-Weight savings is not enough (many Ti offer more savings)
-Price is absurd
-Labor hours is absurd. I did it faster than that in my garage with a single race jack.

Oh well, the "M tax" is even worse with BMW directly. Some will pay...

On the plus side it does sound quite good - a bit E46 M3-ish on the free rev.

+1. I think the free-rev actually sounds bad.
