Back in November when I did the factory tour in Munich, someone asked the tour guide about this. She claimed the E9x M3 has outsold the E46 model. It must have been a corporate propaganda response, or perhaps she misunderstood the question and thought she was being asked about overall sales numbers for E9x vs. E46 across all trim levels.

Wasn't 2010 a short year for the M3?
This would explain the lower sales numbers. I would love to see the sales numbers for all of the years of production. I believe they produced the highest number of cars in 2008 and then the economy got bad and they cut the production numbers. |
