:)

BMW is very smart for doing all of these "edition" models. And I have a feel they are doing this because in 20-30 years these car will be HUGE collectors items and also much more expensive then they originally were.

Feels like living in the 80s with all the special editions and extremely long model names.

BMW is not selling something now so it's collectible in future, lol. BMW is selling these special models because you have to find all sorts of way to attract money from customers facing higher taxes and rising prices and thinking about other stuff than buying new cars

Unless its a CSL, all these minor mods will not make them any more expensive or collectors item per say.

In my book, the only one that's truly special is the one "you" own.

How about just making the red stitching and frozen gray paint regular options and stop with this special edition nonsense?

If there is no difference under the hood, it's not really special is it? These are cars, not purses.

Actually, my stealership has 2 frozen grey M3s in stock, one convertible & one coupe - both with EDC, Executive pkg, M drive and DCT tranny.
This is availble in Canada. Except we have matte black. Exact same Package tho.

What does a track car need headlight washers for? I hate the way they look. Oh well, glad my car doesn't have em!

There is nothing about this car that makes it more track worthy than your everyday optioned out M3. BMW = going down the drain, little by little

Isn't it kind of an oxymoron to say "frozen" paint and "track edition" in the same sentence? Ridiculously difficult to upkeep paint with a car that isn't collectible/garage queen...

Um, didn't you see that it has the comp pack aero and single piston swing arm calipers painted red?

Exactly....one could not bring it better to the point than you with this quote. This is all just for the show what they bring up there. It has nothing to do with true track equipment as it should be in such a car for such a price.
After spending some time behind the steering wheel of my E92 M3, I finally sold it and concentrate on my CSL....that's a true M3, at not an overequipped long distance GT. Hope BMW M will eventually return to its roots and stop bringing such overequipped and much to heavy models

I'm not sure if that's the case... The thing is, how much money are they really seeing from these?

They're only making 10 of this one. Even if they were double the price, you're only talking an extra $500k or so in income. Insignificant in the big picture.

I, personally, find these Edition cars annoying. They should make these extras options for the regular M3.

I'd love to have the red stitching as an option when I put my order in. Or better brakes. Not a fan of matte paint, but it could be an option. The performance exhaust, however, did make it onto the order form, but it's treated as an add-on so you're paying for 2 exhausts still which is annoying... it should be a real option.

If these were options, I'm sure they'd pull in way more money and have even more happy customers.
