Yeah, for the escort laser jammer/shifter units, I don't see that many great reviews on them. But for what it's worth, I was talking to an installer at F/X Audio here in Edmonton and he said that they've done a few installs and the owners seem happy enough.

I'd rather follow function over form. It doesn't look too bad having these things stinking out a bit. I have matte black grills on my E90 and I'll be sticking them vertically between the vents. The main thing is to make sure the receiver/transmitter has a clear view and is not obstructed.

even if you install them horizontally behind your grills you will be fine ... the main thing is to make sure your receivers have a clear path through one of the slots in the grill ... I have them that way for 2.5y now and I can say 100% it WORKS

Ya I talked to FX audio about the install and they sound like they knew what they are doing. I want my install to be clean like pencilgeeks but they told me it would take 2 days and cost me the same I payed for the system! Karmac is going to do my install next week. I hope the laser shifter works well enough.

I've seen a few people do that install behind the grills and with great success. I love how stealth it is. I'm just being a bit paranoid about giving the LI units a completely clear view.

I've had work done at F/X Audi for years now. It's definitely not cheap but their work is top notch. I'll be dropping off my car on the 5th of May to get my V1 hard wired and the LI installed. We should compare installs after look for some LIDAR traps. haha

I agree, there are a lot of store front falses in metro area. Also, there are starting to be a lot of photo cameras at intersections. I'd like to have it. I'd also like to have all operation an visible controls easily concealed in the ashtray rather than have the detector over my head by the rearview mirror.

That's what I've read too... guysoflidar.com. Unfortunate, because it would be a great package deal, but true.

Since laser is rare in Denver, and jammers illegal, maybe I'll forego it. But I know once I do, I'll get hit by the one LEO in the state who has it...

I have read the tests but do we have anyone with real experience? I haven't heard of anyone with the ZR4 who has had it fail on them. Would be interested to hear testimonials...

Jackolo I am with you in trying to find a lidar trap! haha

Not sure if you're on RadarDetector.net but there's a ZR3/ZR4 section there.

I'm on there, just in the last couple days though. I got busy before I could fully review the Zr4 section. I'll check it out in the next few days once I get some time off.

Good point, AMJ. The GuysofLidar test seems solid, but it would be nice to hear testimonials from people with the 9500ci package and the ZR4s.
