YMMV.

I put over 10000km on my 2014 Vanquish in less than six months. 30000km on my first M3T in less than two years.

Depends on the person and situation - After driving an RX7, Integra, then TL-S most of my life, I've had a 1/2-ton truck as a daily for the last 9 years (motorcycle & track/toy hauler transport duty). Kept the truck and picked up my 2023 M340iX as a commuter in early April and have put 7k miles on it in these last 3 (grin-filled) months... most of those miles have just been a mix of lazy and spirited cruising: out to the local lake & back roads, to SF & Sac (live in East SF Bay), or taking the long route home from work.

That said, it was just the other day that I realized how many miles I was racking up and decided to cool my jets... I'm not going to avoid driving it, but I can't stomach the depreciation hit I'd see on this car if I kept a 20k+ annual average, let alone 28k

Then again, I tend to assume a car is a sunk cost the moment I buy it, helping tamper the "just a little more, faster, nicer" itch while shopping, which is why I don't buy new and don't buy at the top of what I can afford. With that assumption going in, and my typical ownership term of 7-10 years, it's a pleasant (surprise? bonus?) getting then-market value for them when it's time to sell for the next ride.
