It’s fine in a vacuum.
Compare it to other manufacturers and it falls short.

What are tomatoes, cucumbers, random peppers, random processed meats, copious amounts of bread and farmers cheese for breakfast going to do to fix the fugly and heavy M cars they're putting out?

Nothing.

Compared to VW and Mercedes, they're better.

Compared to Honda, you can't because Honda actually cares about manuals and doesn't make any RWD LSD cars anymore so there's that.

Don't bring up the T56, that thing shifts like a truck.

Dirk was a fun instructor at the Ring a couple summers ago. Loved when he told us he liked the F87 better than the G87.

i think asking for a 1500kg car would be wild... but a 1650kg car thats rawer and less insulated without hybridization isnt a massive ask

I love Honda's manuals, I wish I could get a RWD 6MT from them...

Not with EV’s and Hybrid’s.

Anyone else here believe (like I do), that there should be a separate “E” line of M the way there is Formula 1 and Formula E?

BMW E Motorsport

There should always remain a cohort, however small (even if just the M3 model) of pure ICE M vehicles.

Planned obsolescence? Keep the manuals inferior to the competition so fewer and fewer people order them, thereby once they are fully discontinued, only a minority are left to complain?

Probably that you don't feel anything from BMW steering since the F chassis came out.

You realize that a $400 short shifter solves this right?

Like it's not that hard.

My hatred of FWD is more powerful than my hatred of BMW design language which is telling.

They need to make an S3000. But it would probably suck.

You are describing the M4 CSL.
G8x cars were the last non-hybridised M cars though, so there is a nonexistent chance for that in the future.

So why haven’t they made that Factory? I don’t care that it’s trash as I’m not a Manual fan anymore. It just blows my mind that they have let it go on for SO long!!! You shouldn’t have to have an aftermarket part, to make it feel like a car that’s 40 dollars less? You don’t agree with that? It was the worst part of my E-36 then the worst part of my 46 then the F car was DCT so I didn’t need that slush box anymore
