Oh I agree, the E60 is the M5 to get, esp when they get DCT swap working. But the E39 is so damn pretty.

I don't know if E60 M5 is the one to get. My friend had one and had the engine grenade on him from rod bearings while idling in a parking lot. He then purchased a M6 6MT with the same engine and had the same thing happen.

Both were replaced under BMW new car warranty but he swore off the V10 after that. I would never want one of those cars either. It's one thing to enjoy looking at or driving someone else's car but it's a different thing to own.

For the M5, I enjoyed driving the F90. Very refined and tons of power. But I have no idea what that would be like to own.
