For coupe, the fold down rear seats are standard. For the sedan it's an option.

It is quite a difference, iDrive 4.0 BUT to me it was not worth an additional almost $10k....

I just experienced the full new iDrive in a 7 series last week and it is impressive, hopefully I can finish the review of it in the next day or so.

The new iDrive in the 1 & 3 are essentially the same as the 7 just toned down a bit..

Depending on what you can snag an '08 for vs. the '09 is really the difference. The iDrive in the 2008 is the best of the last gen and it is quite good compared to earlier renditions.

The other way I look at it: the 2008 ///M3 sedan will be a 1 year production= rare car

Just correcting 3. active head restraint is added on 2009 models. 2008 did not have this feature.

Can also recall reading somewhere that the ventilation system has been redesigned.

I never heard about the new ventilation system. Did anyone else hear about that?

My 08' coupe has fold down seats and rear seat nets. Maybe they were part of a package or something

Yeah, I've checked (a few times, lol) but nothing there. Thats a pretty lame thing to make an "option". I wonder if there is any performance reason for this or just another way to make a buck.

I honestly prefer the 08 tails with blacklines to the 09 tails. But i do wish i had the new iDrive.

BTW, how does the cup cooler work? I opened the center storage compartment about 2 times since i got the car 6 months ago. I saw the beverage cooler and thought it was cool but never tried it. I remember my buddys range rover sport had it and it worked great but i think it was a dedicated cooler unlike the M3's vents

What are these nets you guys are speaking of? My 03/08 build coupe has fold down seats but I haven't seen any nets of any kind. Also, there is a hole in the back seat for skiis I believe, but there is no bag to put skiis in.. is this bag an option? The cusion in the middle of the seat comes out (not an arm rest like I first assumed it would be) and then there is a plastic door that can be removed leaving a hole into the trunk.

10. Cupholders have silver accents.
11. Disc slots have been compiled into one, and can play DVDs.
12. Volume knob has a better feel to it. It has more resistance and feels smoother. I noticed this one by personal experience.

Doesn't matter about the 08 I drive as it's just distracting. Just enjoy the car.

If it is the same as the 335, that plastic door you take out has the bag inside it.

I haven't used the 09 iDrive but can't complain about the 08 system. It is a bit slow at times, especially when it you first jump in and it has to pair with your phone.... you can't turn the volume down until it gets the phone icon ready. You can hit mute though... little trick there for you guys!

Trim piece(s) on the dash mounted cup holders (pop-outs).

BTW - why do the head rests "lack" the active restraint system? I thought US DOT law requires it.

One more/less feature....the '09's lose the little flashlight in the glovebox. It's no longer offered. The '09's also lose the 10/13mm wrench in the toolkit.

I want my money back!!
