Beautifully said - I've had mine for 6 years and can't find a car worthy of replacing it.

I bought my 6mt e90 as a cpo back in 2012. Still brings a smile to my face every time I drive it. Nothing could ever replace it. I love it more than ever and I will keep it forever.

What makes you guys come back? Especially 7 times? I get the car. It sounds great and drives nice but aren’t there better cars out there?

Ok now this is funny...Dan is like my asian brotha from anotha motha!

Dan has me beat as I'm currently looking for my 5th E9X M3 and I also very shortly owned an extremely fast FBO F80 ZCP M3 AND Dan and I have both owned one of the same M3's

What's really strange is Dan can attest to this that I just texted him today that I am on the lookout for another E9X M3, I can't make this up!

What I didn't share with you Dan is I'm straddling the fence with the idea of an E60 M5 as a weekend/project car too.

We'll see what the next few months entail...

I can understand selling a car, missing it, then finding another unit. But why would u make that same mistake 6 times? Lol. Genuinely curious.

Dan, Thanks for letting me keep one of your M3s (e92 speed cloth). Owning two 2013 e92 M3 is my addiction.

Had my 2012 competition for just over a year now, and I just adore it. It’s a garage queen / toy so it’s only done 1300 miles in that period (43k in total)

I came to it from 3 F8x cars. Which I haven’t missed at all, I do miss the Ceramic brakes however. I’m sticking with the S65 + Eventuri + MPE forever!!

I am closing in on eight years with my 2010 e90 M3. I agree it's hard to part with these cars.
I would instead add another toy to complement the S65 then sell. If I were ever to sell, I know I would be right back like most of yall. Working on getting my finances better so I can add a 911 at some point.

The e9X M3's are akin to that crazy ex-girlfriend we can't seem to let go of because the sex is so good

Side note - I was getting petrol yesterday, and a gent who was pumping petrol in his Honda Accord yelled, "Hey, dude, nice M". "Glad see people still buy these M cars in a manual". "I could tell it's manual when you were backing up to the pump" My car is a DCT; I did not make him any wiser. I just said thank you and went along about my business.

I feel this thread, got my 2009 E93 in 2011 and still have it. 90k miles and still look back to admire the car after parking. I can't quit this car, so much driving satisfaction and aural enjoyment. I could afford more but the options to me just don't give me the same results.

I really love this thread. I am an addict for ALL things automotive. Always have been. The focus of this passion is my dream car, my 2008 E90 M3 6spd. It might not be much for many people here but for this working stiff, it is the pinnacle of my vehicle ownership. I see no reason I will ever sell it. I kept my 2006 330i for 9 years and only sold it to buy my M3 so I will own this for a LONG time.

I owned an E90 323i in the family for 10 years before I bought my E92 M3 finally in 2016.
Welcome aboard, better late than never.

SS E90 M3 is my absolute favorite color in the E90.

I love seeing others have similar obsessions with these cars.

I wanted one since it came out when I was 18. Finally got one at 29. It's my one and only M car so far. But I would love to find another E9x M to keep it company.

After having owned 3 generations of M3's (E36, E46, E92) I am not sure the E9x is a clear winner IMHO.

The E36 chassis might have been the best by a small margin, and once modified became one of the most tossable cars I have ever owned. Became one with the car, so to speak, as after a short time behind the wheel things just almost become telepathic. Major downside is, of course, the engine, or lack there of. Pathetic misread of the market by BMW.

The E46 brought the engine, but also a bit more heft. She was a very pretty fat girl in spandex. Chassis was good, balance was great, engine was sublime but didn't fully make up for the added weight. Overall maybe the best in total if not in each aspect.

The E92 is very good at just about everything, but again added more heft. The engine is a dream come true, if a bit late, but again with things that make it less than ideal. Not enough low-end to drag its larger butt off the line better, but once you get it rolling and the RPMs start to climb none of the other issues seem to be as big a deal. The chassis is very capable and with a little bit of modding brings back memories of the beauty of the E36 platform with a shitload more power. And the sound is just off the chart. Nothing quite like it.

To be honest, if I could take the engine out of the E92 and drop it in the E46 I think that would be the best of all worlds for me. But short of that, and the fact the E36 platform is just too old now and too underpowered, I would agree that the E92 is the best of the 3. While I am a purest to some degree, I am not opposed to newer, non-NA version either, however the F8x's seem to be a step back in many ways and the G8x's are ugly AF. I think if I were to go to a newer platform from the E92 I would likely shift to the M2.

Bottom line, and for what I wanted this car for, I can not really see a better, more fun and more capable car out there, short of a lot more $$$ spent, and so I plan to keep this one for a good while. The fact that there is a huge marketplace still available and a thriving community surrounding this platform is just icing on an already yummy cake!

How about an M2 with the S65 engine in it? Just thinking out loud. But then again a used base 1LT C8 might be the performance bargain of the decade.

Without doubt, the C8 will be a go-to for a long time. Maybe in a few years....

What's the suspension setup? Have you lowered the car?

Only two for me. First 2011 e90 interlagos blue with black interior. Bought brand new and lost in a flood at 50k miles and 6 years. Looked hard at f80 for a replacement and jut did nit like the steering and turbos. Began search and found a 2011 e90 interlagos blue with bamboo interior and competition pack with 14k miles in 2017. Have owned it ever since. They have been my daily drivers and just work beautifully for that duty! Someone said a 911 would be a great replacement. Not if it was for daily driver duty. My GT3 just doesn’t have the trunk space to be a daily.
