Porsche said using the old 20.6km loop, they did a 6:55.2. 17.5sec faster than outgoing GT3 1.2sec faster than RS. The RS was also done on the Cup 2 R tires(wider tires as well). |

It kinda looks like a TurboS. I dunno, not feeling, like at all. Would legit take a 991.2 GT3 over this. It just looks huge, more Gran Tourer like. Video below is awesome though.

Was just about to post just this. Given the fact that no changes were made to power, this is an insane achievement over the previous car. Most any other maker would need to make materially big changes along with massive power and torque gains for a reduction in lap time like this.

Yeah I don't get the "i expected more" thing. It's a smallish NA motor, what more do you want than 500 natural HP? That's what the GT2 is for and I would legit take a GT3 over a GT2 assuming I could not sell either. Who needs 800hp for the track or the road? 500 is shit tons.

500?!! Heck, give me 300hp + 2812lbs body as in the 993RS and lets call it a day!!
I think with the 992 getting so big and so much noise about the size growth that perhaps this will be the upper limit and they’ll start rethinking next model parameters as its as big as it needs to ever be. |

I was watching Henry Catchpoles Carfection video. He said the time he got to ride in the prototype, he could tell the lateral grip was up immensely due to that new front suspension. |

No doubt this car will be the benchmark, and it's always great to see Porsche still listening to their fans and providing a manual. But...
I can't say I'm a fan of the nostrils. I know GT3's are supposed to look like race cars, but this looks closer to an RS than a base one. To some people, this is a good thing, but give me a clean 997.1 GT3 (base) all day long. That was the perfect blend of race car + street car IMO.

I just feel they are turning the regular street GT3 into more of an RS (focusing on the aero improvements more than anything)... downforce that you won't experience on the street. Curious to see how compliant the new suspension is, the current RS is very stiff while the GT3 is still livable. Lots of guys DD their touring. The 2R tire is already less of a DD friendly tire than the cup 2. as far as the double wishbone. My old 458 and GTR had double wishbone fronts. My current GT3 never left me thinking... damn this front turn in sucks / lacks feel

The car does 0-60 in 3.2sec with NA motor and revs out to 9k RPM - what more do you want lol? This 4.0 engine was Brand New for the 991.2 GT3. They improved every aspect of the car. GT3 has always been a track car first that you can drive on the street. It was never intended to be a street / GT car that can also be tracked.

Yeah sorry i still don't get it, 500HP is TONS, i cannot fathom what 550Hp does that 500HP doesn't given the intended use of the car and the "spirit" of the car.
I feel some folk are more caught up in the numbers than they need to be. |

Henry Catchpole said you could definitely feel the enormous gains in the corners. The new suspension also felt more compliant that the 991 GT3.

as for street car vs track car... The GT3 is the streetable version. The RS is the track car. Chris Harris daily drives a touring (wingless GT3) as well as many other people. the RS has very stiff suspension by comparison. the demand is also there for the street car. Tourings are getting 15-30k over msrp on resale. GT3RS are going for 30k below sticker now.

Nobody dailys these cars - let’s be real here. This is somebody’s 3rd to 10th car. Taking it to work on Friday- doesn’t mean its a daily. Chris Harris has a job which involves driving cars so for him it may make sense lol. 17sec improvement with same power is not impressive to you lol? Yes its a long track but that is significant difference!

Law beat me to it.
I'm surprised no one else is really saying it. We have a high-rev, NA, 6MT still being produced in 2021. That is something to rejoice. So thrilled that Porsche is continuing this philosophy for the "driver's car spec" The front end and swan neck will take some getting used to. I still think the 991 GT3 is the most beautiful Porsche IMO. Would love to add a GT3 to the stable one day. |

I think this is pretty far off. $15k-$20k will be closer to average IMO.
Most 991.2s were going for $15k over and I think the market is a bit softer now. Plus a used 991.1 was not as attractive to a 991.2 buyer but a used 991.2 will be fairly attractive to a 992 buyer, especially when you can get a 991.2 GT3 RS for below sticker now. A lot of people will question paying a huge markup on the 992 when they can get the 991.2 RS at a discount. Personally I think the car has the right amount of incremental improvements to make it it a "new", objectively superior car but not enough to make me jump from a 991.2.

I like that Porsche is still using the NA engine. The looks are more driven by aero and function rather than beauty. Still a very capable car that will perform well above it's "weight" and HP.
Alas, I will stick with my 991.2 C2 with a manual. I need and use the back seats quite often for the family. The closest you can get to this car with four seats is a GTS and then it's the same engine as the base car with larger turbos. No GT cars offer back seats nor is it possible to retrofit back seats like the 997 cars. The GT cars actually use a different tub that doesn't have the mounting points for the seats or seat belts in the back.
