My OEM battery was a Banner battery as well. The BMW replacement was an Exide online. I'm not sure who the OEM manufacture was from the dealer. Looks just like the Die Hard I just installed though. Who knows. I like my 3 year warranty over the 0 year warranty (since my car is out of warranty) offered from the dealer. Makes perfect sense. |

Yeah was being facetious about the weight lol.
But the 15 pound-savings partially offset the 5 gallon water/ice tank installed in the passenger-side trunk to help with IAT reduction. No issues with the z4m battery. Works just like the stock m3 battery.

Bringing this old post back where I had previously purchased an aftermarket battery. No issues with that choice but looks like FCP is now selling the Odyssey H8 battery for our cars. Has anyone tried it vs the options that are discussed in the post. I was thinking about giving it a try vs the autozone duralast AGM.
Would be good to know if anyone has tried it. My current car has had the original battery since Nov 2013. Still shows that it charges up fine but trying to think ahead as the battery doesn't usually last much longer than 8 years.

Update. Bought the odyssey battery from fcp. Shipping was super quick. Installed today. Works perfectly. Some tips and confirmation. Carly still does not show the battery register the but bmwlogger does work.

My car has 40K miles. Sits on a charger as well. Since the new battery change, starting seems to be better even though i never had any issues on starting the car before. 8 years is a long time for a battery especially for one in modern BMW’s that are power hungry even when off.
