I have a catless IPE. Perfect for me but prob too loud for most.

I wouldn't recommend it for OP. I would however recommend the use of the search function.

There are prob hundreds of threads about the Megan exhaust already.

I would recommend against using the search function for the OP. This is a DISCUSSION forum, not wikipedia. By all means, discuss, and who cares if it's been discussed before. If you aren't interested, move on to the next post.

What's the point of the search function then?

Buy a used M Performance Exhaust (MPE). Can be had for $2k or less. Nice refined note, not too flashy, perfect fitment. No drone.

What would you recommend based on my budget? Leave it stock?

Agree, catless IPE is too loud and expensive.

I did run the search function for hours and seen all the videos. That is why I have come up with this short list. Based on the search function I would get the Megan exhaust. But just wanted to get the feedback of people that might have heard these setups with test pipes. I haven't.

I like the MPE and have been able to test it. A bit too conservative on the sound level but I like it. Nevertheless, I now have test pipes and the search function indicates that there would be too much rasp when combining both, hence the MPE has been discarded. I also think there are better alternatives at that price point for used exhausts.

Please note that I live in Peru. This means I have to buy parts abroad and import them to Peru. That means paying shipping to Peru + 20% taxes which brings the overall price of parts much higher.

Very cheap and perfect sound without drone ?

How's it with the valves closed? I'm bored of my Milltek muffler.

Quiet. Kinda raspy. I rarely drive with them closed though.

Would be good alternative if I didn't have the test pipes installed (which I want to keep). But just reading the post below discourages me from trying it with TPs:

I don't understand this either. Apparently people don't know the definition of the word "forum." It's like going to a discussion group about history and asking a question and the only responses are, "go read some books." These cars are up to seven years old. Every question has been asked. Might as well lock the entire site and archive it.

That's exactly what went through my mind! Things change over time as well. Maybe Megan Racing Exhausts were very good when they came out and now they are falling apart. Or there are just much more compelling alternatives of used exhausts.

And I have read the past posts, that's the key point. I'm not asking "What is the best exhaust I can but?"

It will sound more raspy the combination of test pipes and Oem exhaust mod. and some really like it , others don't .
In other words ...it's all about personal preference .

Agree, but I believe the video shows TP + ACM Mod which in theory (that's what I understand) results in less rasp but more drone as it get rid of the Helmholtz chambers. Not really a route I want to follow.

Hmmm so it would almost be OEM like since I my cats are still present. Interesting....

Just placed my order for the Remus Sport exhaust with chrome tips. Should be in Peru in a couple of weeks.

I'll post a video once installed.
