Isn't the ICV only about $200? The actuators are around $1k (per).

I have this issue also, it doesn’t happen too often but it has in the past multiple times and I’m sure it still will but, when I come to a stop, sometimes the idle will just bounce a lot, almost getting as low as 100 rpms and then bouncing back up to 1000, and then usually it just settles and idles normally or sometimes the rpms dip and it doesn’t bounce back up and just dies, now I’ve noticed this usually happen after I get gas, and I’m wondering if maybe it’s a fuel breather valve issue because I’ve heard that could be it and most likely is what it is, but it doesn’t happen all the time, and I also don’t throw any codes.

It won't throw codes. I replaced mine and it solved these exact symptoms. Not a difficult fix.

My 2015 X3 was doing the same thing after stopping at a Red Light and then trying to proceed, the engine would shut down and the gear would default to park. I was also noticing some lagging issues when accelerating at low speeds and then I saw a warning light “Transmission Malfunction”. Took it to the dealer- reluctantly and they diagnosed it as old battery. Had the battery replaced ($660) and it’s only been one day so praying this actually fixed the problem.

It’s been 9 years and everyone missed the most obvious solution to this problem. Just don’t stop at stoplights. Jeez.

My car died at a stop. Like completely died. All warning lights came on and I had to tow it. Turned out to be a bad alternator.
