Ericsson Releases Details On New Parts

Legendary Power House Amuse’s new BMW only tuning brand Ericsson launched with a bang last month.
Bulletproof Automotive was there to introduce Ericsson to North America.
The response has been incredible as so many people appreciate the incredible design and quality of these parts like we do.

Long awaited concrete details on the parts which were in prototype form last month are now available.
For pricing and details we’ve published everything on our website so please visit http://www.bulletproofautomotive.com and go to the BMW section for pricing and details on each part.

Keeping in mind that the E92 M3 in Japan is approximately $90,000 when purchased new, Ericsson’s plan is to bring the M3 into Porsche GT3 territory with their new tuning program.
The plan calls for extensive weight reduction and strong power gains to get the power to weight ratio into certified supercar territory.
Accompanying to this is a chart to see exactly where the Ericsson M480 demonstration car falls into the spectrum.

Power to Weight Ratio

Weight
Power
Power to Weight Ratio

BMW M3 (E92)
1630kg
420ps
3.88kg/ps

Ericsson M480 Concept
1460kg
437ps ※2
3.34kg/PS

Porsche GT3
1395kg
415ps
3.36kg/ps

Nissan R35 GTR
1740kg
480ps
3.62kg/ps

BMW E46M3 CSL
1420kg
360ps
3.94kg/ps

To achieve their concept of making the new M3 a nimble and extreme performing car Ericsson has used exclusively prepreg dry carbon fiber and titanium for their parts. The result is 374 lbs of weight reduction and 480hp! Bear in mind that Porsche GT3 beating performance and quality is not cheap, nor is dry carbon and titanium that Amuse uses. The resulting parts from the Ericsson are as high quality as their price would imply.

For those of you hoping for more affordable fiberglass parts, it goes against the M480 car’s concept of maximum weight reduction so it has not been released that way. However don’t be surprised that someday down the line we convince Ericsson to produce some limited parts in FRP. In the meantime, enjoy Ericsson parts they way they were meant to be…with uncompromising quality designed for the select few serious enthusiasts that want to build the absolute best E92 M3 possible.

Anyone actually going to shell out that kind of cash for this? I'm sorry but as nice as that all seems there is no way its worth the price. Even if its rated the best quality in the world.
I could maybe possible understand if thous prices were half of what they are listed. But even then its way high.

Honestly it is very expensive. But Ericsson has told us that they are not interested in selling hundreds of parts. They dont want to compromise the quality for a lower price and they believe that serious owners who want maximum performance and quality will indeed spend the money. From my experience in this business it is true, there will be M3 owners out there that find this to be worth the high price tag. And of course there will be many that would rather buy more affordable tuning parts. To each their own...but the Ericsson quality is incomparable, that much is indisputable.

by the way...if it helps we're happy to take PM or email price matches on anything we sell. Not just Ericsson but Gruppe-M, or anything else on the market.

About the Gruppe-M intake: There is no dyno chart available from them but they did do the following testing on the E92 M3:

ORIGINAL 16.57s
RAM AIR SYSTEM 15.82s (-0.75s)

120-210km/h 3-4speed 5,600-8,200rpm (DSC OFF)
ORIGINAL 9.18s
RAM AIR SYSTEM 9.05s (-0.13s)

it's a bit insulting to charge the price of the car itself for a what, 10-20% increase in performance??

carbon fiber can't be THAT expensive - true it shouldn't be cheap to get "GT3 caliber" performance but it's a bit exploitive to tell a consumer they have to/need to pay the difference in price of the two cars to get it.

body kit doesn't even look nice cept for the door panels

outlandish, no thanks

I think the doors/bumpers/door panels are good ideas. The exhaust does look first rate.

I love the parts, but had no idea they would only be achievable at such a high price. I understand they are the best products out right now, and do a significant amount of performance gains to the vehicle, but honestly who can really afford or justify spending that much on an m3? In the end the car is still an m3, and to add the all the parts you would be looking at spending close to the same amount the car is worth.

Need to check your calculator. Door set 41 lb. - 7.37 lb. = 32.63 lb savings. $10,829/32.63 lb. = $331.88/lb.

I was doing an overall calculation of the weight they shed from the entire car. Not the doors.

Oh, you're right, it's a bargain! Would've been nice if they figured out how to use both hood ports for the ram air system.

Beautiful stuff, but crazy prices.

These prices wont last. The only reason it is so High is because there just isnt anyone else out there making parts yet. I think its kinda funny how they show a "discount Price" when these items haven't yet been released or sold.

Fact is respectable companies will make similar products for 1/10th the price that you charge with similar benefits.

On the other hand yes there isn't and probably wont be another manufacturer to product products this high of quality.

I just wonder what guarantee you get with their products. At that price I would expect a lifetime warranty.
