Thanks for sharing such detailed part numbers and everything.
I don't have a lot of experience tapping plastic. Do the threads hold up to the return line okay? |

Initially I had the same concern but figured the part was only 30 bucks so I can experiment and see if it was strong enough. After running for a second with a couple of threads I quickly found out not only was it but I was able to put quite a bit of pressure on it.no signs of having any issues and is working great

Holding up nicely with no leaks here. As a note though when I installed the reservoir I did slip a couple worm-gear clamps on the hoses connected to the barb just to be safe.

Hi, this was what I did
"If you don't have crimp clamps get a kit from Amazon \ http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...rch_detailpage It's cheap and looks much better than the crap ones with the barrel screw that tightens the unit m(worm gear). Those break easily and end up being the addition that cuts the crap out of you when your trying to work on your car."

I looked up that part number and it comes up as "heater hose." You really ought to get some proper power steering hose. Why have you got an adapter on the input hose? Isn't it the same diameter as the input/hose on the stock M3 reservoir?

They wouldn't fit, well not easily from what I could tell, so I ended up needing two adapters. |

If only one is needed, maybe I'll try fitting the hose once more.

I did this mod using all the parts the OP posted. Very easy and simple task, but I have a micro leak.
I'm not 100% sure if the leak is coming from the threaded part in the reservoir or at the fittings. Is it safe to use plumber's tape or something similar to it? |

you could, but make sure that you actually got the fitting tight as well. this is all pretty much all low pressure, so you should not have leaks. My is dry as a bone
