You shouldn't feel strange. Enjoy the car. I take every opportunity to drive mine. To each their own I don't get the concept of buying a driver's car and parking it.

Actually waiting to retire. Got the M3 by saving deployment money while in the military. Saved up for the ZL1 after military working as a civilian. We don't make much money in the military, so saving up for something like an M3 is treasured. I also enjoy working on cars and detailing them. Did many upgrades for these and other cars on my own. Help our friends when I can. Have a Rupes DA polisher and various other things for detailing. Have both cars as retirement hobbies. I only drive 200-300 miles per year each car partly because I live and work very close to home. Keep cars stored in the meantime during winter and detail them.

Shuffled some of the cars around early this morning, and went for a quick drive just as the sun was coming up. Next stop is the dealer for an oil change, brake flush and a new battery (still on the original from 2011) later this week!

impressive. I just bought mine in Canada (48000 kms) for about 55k from a Porsche dealer. The car is in like-new condition cosmetics wise so I bought it.

I totally get what you're doing, there is more than one way to enjoy your car. When I retire in the next 5-8 years I'll find even more time to dedicate special road trips and projects with it. Sounds like you may do the same.. However, you may find it harder and harder to take the plunge and drive it at this point! My car is young but at 50k miles I can stomach putting some miles on it |

Damn I thought I was low. 2013 ZCP just hit 28k miles. I only drive it 1-2 times per week max on short drives. Trying to enjoy the car but also not too much.

In the UK, of cars 'still on the road', 34 E9x M3's are still showing below 10,000miles, with the lowest measured at 1,349miles at it's last statutory check.

I guess some folks just have lots of spare cars.. Probably these 34 are all in or around the London metro area or perhaps the Cotswolds..

i mean it's super cool, but ... why? was this an investment, or do you just have a bunch of other cars you rotate through?
