The white area is an infrared rotisserie burner. They are pretty common in higher end grills and do a great job with even heat for that type of cooking. I had a 52" Grand Turbo years ago before I discovered the Big Green Egg and now I have moved on to all charcoal cooking. The GT is a very sturdy unit that will last a long time if properly taken care of.

Bought the stubbs. Tasted good, a little more watery than the sweet rays if that makes sense.

Family prefers the taste of the sweet rays but i am going to try the stubbs again with more sauce, maybe some type of blind taste test.

Yeah Sweet Baby Ray's is definitely the goopy bbq sauce most are used to. I prefer the stubbs consistency.

I just bought an insane amount of ribs,chicken etc. for a bday party this weekend...maybe I'll give Stubbs a try

I went on yelp, found a guy who busted his ass cleaning it, over 4 hours in the florida heat and for under 150. Crazy deal. I have been BBQ every night since saturday

He took it apart, and cleaned up all the parts, the burners, the grates are very heavy duty 304 stainless so he was using grinders on that thing, also grinder on the grill any rusty areas or really dirty areas.

and it looked like he has all types of sprays, probably degreasers and stuff.

I would have cleaned it myself but it was really dirty and having just moved into this place(grill been here for 10 years) i wanted a professional to tell me if it was in good working(safe) condition...

Hey I wouldn't want to clean someone else's grill! I may look into this, good option for every couple years.

There are several places around me that do this service. I've never tried it myself, but imagine a lot of upselling occurs during the cleaning.

Sir, you ignitor doesn't light on every press. This could allow gas to build up for 1/2 second and cause an explosion - Cha-ching

There is something therapeutic about totally dismantling the grill, scarping all the burnt stuff off the sides, soaking the grates, and putting it all back together for a quick light and burn of some more cow flesh. First world problems, indeed

To answer your question about the meat from Costco, we buy chunk meat, and ground beef from them; quality is not bad. My wife loves their meats. My mom loves Sam's club meat too.

It looks to me liek an IR heater panel... Usually used to regulate the temp over the entier area inside the grill, but it could also be a Rotis heater.
