Check this out... kinda fits your description and price range. Plus some good work already taken care of.

I also think you should bump up the budget to ~$20k.
The difference between a $15k car and a $20k car is much different. And not just $5k different. Many cars near or at the $15k level will be way higher on the mileage side, spotty history, and the condition will probably leave something to be desired...although that IB E92 linked above looks pretty nice. Not saying it cant be done, but a $15k car wont stay there for long. It will undoubtedly need something soon. If that something is RBs and TAs, you're basically at the $20k mark without even getting a tank of gas! Good luck in the search. |

For those suggesting expand the budget to ~$20k, are you suggesting searching for cars that are $20k with hopes of getting them down to $17k or so? Or are you suggesting looking at cars for around $22-$23k and negotiating to $20k?

I ran across a e90 m3 with 130k miles and be bearings/arp bolts and a ton of other maintenance completed on autotrader. 16.5k. Could barely resist just buying it although 6 cars may be a bit too much

There is a good chance that might be caused by ABS/wheel speed sensor, had that happen on mine about 10K miles ago, replaced the sensor on both front wheels, problem solved. Cost about $100 for parts and very easy to do.

When the tech doing the RB's pulled the codes, (which there were a TON of) he mentioned it seemed like someone put in a new battery and didn't recode things properly. I mean, there were a TON of codes. ABS pump not coded to vin for example, or something like that. I don't recall off the top of my head. Once the RB's are done, I'll be able to dive into this thing...AND I'll be able to make my build thread, LOL! |
