I have done many laps under 8:00 minutes in less powerful cars but on slicks. |

yes this is a super lap. Jochen is an excellent driver and knows the Nordschleife. I used to race in the RCN as well a few years ago. He laps me in the VLN now. A little bit in my defense: he races in faster class.

Very nice!E30 M3 's were great race cars especially prepared to that level.Got to love the safety vehicles out there towing the wounded ones off.Over here you would have a full course yellow even at the Club Racing level but with the Ring that would be a nightmare for anybody involved.Nice driving!

We tuned it on the dyno today with a/n fuel control. It made 225whp on 93 octane gas (SAE corrected dynojet numbers). That is probably ~270hp at the crank. Almost 110hp/liter. Can't wait to race it this year.

Good driver! Crazy fast as well...
My balls will be up on my neck with me on the passenger side. To be honest, i'm a lil scared scared to ride with this guy. |

I haven't messed with the exhaust, and there is probably another 20-30 whp there with the headers, etc., but I think I will leave it alone for now. Anything beyond that begins to be a major trade-off against durability etc. As Gearhead mentioned some time ago, the S14 does respond well to mods. The main issue with this car is its outdated suspension design--especially the rear. I might put in a fully adjustable setup (referring to the geometry) and rear coilovers, but that requires a serious effort. The goal now is to take off another 200lbs and get it down to ~2250lb with no fuel, install the rear wing I recently bought, and fabricate a splitter. I am shooting for NASA GTS3, but it most likely still will not measure up to the E36 cars running there (just comparing cars and not drivers). Anyway, it will be fun that's for sure... Hope to run into to you guys in Canada this summer btw!

Make sure you take some pics when you get it completed! Hope we see you in Canada this year, be sure to let us know when you are going to be here. Who knows, maybe we will see you in the US. We are doing a number of days at Watkins Glen, so maybe you can make one of those. |

The guys has mad skills recovering from a skid. Not sure I am impressed with his abrupt steering inputs. He obviously can drive but I can't imagine he was actually going for a solid time based on all the sliding he did. Is this an old video? Was this the beginning of drifting?
