She drives my car all the time.
She scratched the right rear wheel. Otherwise she knows how I'm anal about it and she pays good attention.

I am in the it's just a car camp. My wife drives it whenever she needs to and there are no special rules or anything. She even enjoys driving it. Of course it is very soon to be a 600+ HP just-a-car but nobody is going to know that from the outside.

The whole thread sounds like DCTOP (DCT Owners Problem). 6MT guys don't have issues with spouses driving M.
Preparing for the flames. A sexist and anti-dct comment rolled in one. |

After almost 3 months of ownership my wife finally drove my car last night after having dinner about 4 miles away from our house. She drove it in full auto mode the whole way and then when we got home I got nervouse because of the slope of our driveway. It causes me to pull the car in (backwards) at a sharp angle to avoid scraping anything. She made 3 attempts and finally put it in Park, got out of the car with it in the middle of the street, walked up the driveway and into the house without saying a word. I laughed and pulled the car in and DID NOT say anything about it the rest of the night.

My wife drives my car only once in a while. She's pretty good with it. She knows it is my other love. She's pretty anal about her own car too.

My wife is awesome with the M3. She is careful where she parks it. She is fine with a DCT as her daily driver is a 6 speed GTI, and when she doesn't drive that she drives her Porsche. She doesn't follow pickup trucks or large trucks too close and she will blow by traffic if she has to in order to prevent chips and dings. She is not OCD (I am) but she applies common sense and is careful with the cars.

when we got the car, i went through the list of "rules" for my then-wife to adhere to when she drove it....
but after a time she found me so anal about the car that she didn't feel comfortable driving it anymore . NOTE: this is someone who once claimed that there's no need to use brakes when you can use a clutch. |

The wife's x5 cost more than mine so that eliminates part of it. 1 and only rule, DON'T hit a curb with a rim or front bumper or rear bumper.

Its just a car and my exgf drove all of my Ms at one point. My exwife couldnt drive standard. My ex drove my cheaper X5 though.
Sometimes I wish I had an auto tragic/dct when I was married then I would really care less. Anyone can drive an automatic. |

What? I'm stopping you right there.
Car-relationship rule #1: Thou shalt not foster acquaintance between your mistress and SO. P.S. I "love" those "comments in the vein of it's-just-transportation or "a car". Obviously, OP's car is one that can be easily replaced as production is perpetual, but alternatively OP would be OK with anything or something with four wheels as an M3 is just like any other vehicle.

I've got no problem with my wife driving my cars. She has little interest in them.
Friends and relatives also drive them. They get very excited and truly appreciate the opportunity. |
