A light cast wheel worries me a little from a strength standpoint. You can't have it all (or rarely).

Greg.... thanks for the update on the 19" stockys. Advan RS wheels are used by the Italian Scuderia WTCC BMW cars and they are known to be one of the strongest cast wheels out there. It is one of those wheels that really have gone through the R&D and Proper design processes, in my opinion before starting life as a wheel. But you are right, "You can't have it all"... at least all the time.

So just to clarify the weights of the wheels and tires you list in these pics are the OEM 19" M3 wheels with stock PS2 tires? (or what do you mean by "but tires are 20mm wider"?
If so, the Tirerack lists the stock PS2's as 24 lbs front and 25 lbs rear. So the OEM 19" M3 wheels weigh: 23 lbs front 26.5 lbs rear That's pretty light for 19" OEM wheels from BMW |

Great info. thanks
I was right when i told customers that ADVANs are the same weight as others Forged Wheels. They are really great wheels. My Japanese supplier said these ADVANs have been painted 3 times to get the best color surface. Another good thing is it has a lot of brake clearance too! |

They are forged, so no surprises there with the 19" stock wheels.

Thanks.
That's strange that the 18's weigh a bit more than the 19's Have there been other people who have weighed the 18's and 19's to see if this was the case for sure? |

Yes, there are several bits of data in various threads, which pretty much all point in the same direction: that the cast 18" wheels are very close to the forged 19" wheels in weight.

Now if they only made those Yoko wheels in 18" sizes.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
