Perhaps the IS-F and C63 will make BMW lower the MSRP some how, or keep it reasonable (low 60s). Also keep the dealers from speculating too much with markups.
And of course, drive away the fake M enthusiast. DG. |

Wow....way to post the ugliest picture of the IS-F on the net and call it ugly lol.
I actually saw it in person at Taste of Lexus last weekend and it looks pretty badass. No M3, but its a very good looking car. |

I don't like it and I think its ugly. But then again I might be a little biased. The only lexus I really liked was the SC. Not the current one but the one before it. The current one is ugly to.

IS-F Specifications 417hp and 373lb-ft of torque. Not bad, but no weight is listed. My guess is 3,700lbs given what the IS350 weighs and all the extra stuff in the IS-F. |

I see in Frankfurt in September...in real it doesn´t look ugly ...the IS-F looks really nice in person...and about the performance lets wait and see...real tests would show how good or bad the car was...I think it was one of the closest compeditors for the new M3...not as good as but really close

I’m sorry but the only people I see driving the IS300s are little high school kids and they all look like riced out civics. Lexus “sports “ cars end up looking extremely boxy and cheap. If I want a Toyota I'll buy a Camery.

Also, why are you talking about the IS300? This is an IS-F thread. To me it just sounds like you are intimidated and scared of what the IS-F represents for the new Lexus brand. Way to go...lol |

But this is silly.. We are talking about the IS-F so leave the rest of the lexus line out of this (since they already thoroughly clobbered the germans in the luxury market in terms of annual sales). Coming from a Lexus fan, the IS-F is no match for the M3, RS4 or the new C63. I just really doubt they will have the guts to make its handling as good as it needs to be. I am very excited that they did decide to release a performance brand, because it will only mean that the segment will become much better with the added competition. Who knows, maybe they will "get it right" with the 2nd generation IS-F. All in all, not a bad first effort, but I doubt its enough to not finish last in 4 way comparos. I am so curious to read the comparos tho !! |

Most people haven't heard about this, but the new Lexus GS-F is going to be released at the end of 08'-early 09'.
I just read Top Gear magazine at Barnes N Noble yesterday and I saw a lot of new models coming out. Not to mention Infiniti's version of the GT-R!! OMG |

each to his own styling, of course on this forum everyone is going to find the styling of the M3 nicer including me, just the reverse on the Lexus site, but don't knock it until we get the #'s it has just as much HP and more torque, and probably won't be much heavier, it's going to be a good competitor in a staight line
in the corners I doubt it, but then again, who knows, until the reviews come out |

We'll see how Lexus has done their homework when the IS-F tests start rolling in. I think it will perform well, but not at the level of the others in this class. They will need another generation or so to get it right. After all, they still haven't quite gotten the IS itself right. |

How so ? It consistently beats all the other sports sedans except BMW in the tests. By that logic, no one except BMW has gotten it right... which I would modify to say that no one except BMW has perfected it. Thats a better statement. |
