That's great! keep me updated and if it needs some adjustments, I can make on the 3D model. I would be more than happy for feedback.

I'm not doing that, but you can buy it from that eBay guy. If I had a 3D model for the plastic frame, I'd print it for sure. It is a pretty complex design and I'm not that proficient with 3D modeling that well. If anyone will have 3D model I'll be more than happy to print it and attach improved clips.

I have made a prototype of full plastic frame with integrated improved clips in the design.
Please let me know if anyone would be interested in buying these and what price should I sell them? I'm just trying to understand if it is worth to print these and sell. here are some pics: |

If you decide to do the entire frame with the improved clips, I would definitely buy. Upgrading to the F10 shift knob/boot has been on my to-do list for quite some time.

Thanks guys for so positive responses.
I think I'll give first 5 frames a shot and sell for $40 shipped. I fitted on my car and it fits very well. I have not tried with leather installed though, so if any of you who buys these first 5 frames will have problems, please return it and I'll refund you fully. Also it takes about a day to print full frame so I won't be able to ship it as quickly as clips. Thank you guys again! |

I'd be interested in a complete frame as well. If anyone gets one and installs it with the leather boot attached, please post an update about how it fits. Doing the F10 knob/boot conversion is also on my list, but I don't want to go through the hassle of removing my frame.

Just posting my results for my DCT boot cover, which was missing two clips. Bought them from buglinjo, he was very quick to ship out and communicative during the whole process, thank you very much, and would recommend to anyone thinking about getting them!
Posting pics below to show how I attached them, and for those unsure about getting them for their DCT boot, you can see for yourself that these in fact will work. For a millennial I'm incredibly bad at technology, so the pics below with red drawings in them, is my poor attempt at explaining the situation and how I glued them on the existing plastic boot frame. First two pics with red arrows show the new clips. You can see they look to be at the same height/level as the factor clips. Third and fourth pics show the contact points where I was able to glue them on. The circles with "1"s in them show where the gap is, and no contact points, while the circles with "2"s are where I was able to glue them on. I think alternatively you could shave the existing plastic boot frame down, but at least for the DCT, I think it would cause more problems that solve, so I kept it as is. As long as the glue is strong enough, it shouldn't be an issue. So far so good, thanks again OP! |
