No one is going to pay $400 for a yearly service.
One people start dropping like flies, I suspect they will revert back.

No, but Flickr stores multiple resized versions of each photo that you can download or direct link. It's the best photo hosting website I've used, period. Even their mobile app is very useful. You can store the photos in full high resolution yet generate resized links for sharing purposes.

That's not a PS. He talked about the color change and the Android upgrade quite a bit ago.

The funny thing is when I mentioned it in 2013 http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=899305 in a post jdamore probably didn't see, the commentary was mostly negative. And when he actually did it a year later, it was quite the opposite reaction http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1056259 *lol*. Humans....

Agreed! I understand $400 for commercial use but for personal use is nuts.
I've read a lot of your DIYs and your detail with the pictures is outstanding! I hope they do not shut them off on you!

If they did it because its causing them to lose money, then they cant revert back. I don't think they have released any statements why.

I remember that thread.. I probably had tunnel vision, not reading, and only looked at pictures haha. My thread you linked there is now quite riveting.

If you have created threads using Photobucket, you might want to fix it and host your pictures somewhere else. Speaking of that, where is a good alternative? Where should we go with our images?

So.. Kick-the-Bucket

EDIT: Feel free to practice posting your hosted images here or to help others figure it out

Maybe Photobucket just wants to see if whomever can create a "This Forum Is Worthless Without Pics" smilie.

Asking for $$ is one way to get some to revisit their Photobucket account. It has been a while since I was last there; can't say that I have missed it, but...

Im not a big time photog, but when I need to put up a pic on here I first resize on my Mac, then upload to my thread. Ill leave the procedure I use, right here:
open the image you want to resize
click on Tools drop down
click Resize
adjust Width to 1000(Height will automatically change to 750)
click OK
save changes
quit photo

After that the forum will allow the images to upload to your thread. I dont find it to be an annoyance if Im putting up a few pics, but in the event that you are creating an extensive DIY or a photoshoot, I suppose it could prove to be a tad tedious.

Flickr gives you multiple sizes that you can pick whatever size you want to share.

With Imgur there's a quick url trick that gives you a resized version.

Here's the original version of my image.

if you add a lowercase L just before the .jpg like this

You'll have a resized version.

Compared to the original version.

Hover your mouse over "More Tools," and when the next drop down appears, click on extensions. Go to the link towards the bottom that says "Get more extensions." In the search box, type "Photobucket Fix," and hit enter. Click the install button and once it's done, you should be able to see photobucket pictures again.

For FireFox users, click on the three bars on the right side of the screen, then click on add ons. Click search for "photobucket hotlink" and click install. Same result."
