You should check out a project that European Car is making with a 996 TT, they got it for around 35-40K, and with a couple of mods they're thinking of grtting relly high numbers, as for you question, I have own the last 4 M's, the e36 for 3 years, the e46 for 7, and the e92 since 07, nice cars, but I always wanted a Porsche too, so I already made payment to get one of the first 991 Carrera S (the M3 and Carrera S go for 125,000US here), got for the P-car

That sucks. I felt the same way about this forum when I joined a month ago. Its SO SLOW compared to the subaru forums I came from. Then again, the higher the priced car, the less forum activity you will probably see. I suggest you drive them both for a good 30 minutes and choose what you like best. Us forum guys are really no help to you on this decision since most of us are Bias to the almighty M3. |

Ken can drive. Saddly, he sold out to Ford and left subaru. Those were his best videos. The new one he has out is SO lame. Its all movie effects and less driving.
Those cars he is driving are purpose built drift monsters from vermont sports car (the subaru's). They basically have 400-500WHP. Anyone can make those drift with that much ptw ratio. But he is a good driver! He just sold out on subaru if you ask me. |

I think it was for the money! Subaru held back some on funding a year or so ago and he jumped ship to Ford. If you watch the X games, they use to have Subaru everywhere. Not all you see is FORD marketing stuff everywhere. Basically, ford came in with more cash and took over. Yet, subaru still pwns the fords.

To this point, most AWD cars do not allow for user adjustments. and even if it allows it, it generally doesn't allow for power distribution adjustments. The ones I'm aware of are the ones in the STi which allows some type of power distribution adjustment, though I'm not sure how it works or to what extent it works. The system in the EVO 8/9 was to simply delay when the center diff moves the power around the car, so an aggressive sporty setting would delay the movement by a second or two and that would allow the driver to pull off spectacular drift before the center diff distributions the power to the other wheels and corrects the slippage (by locking up the center diff). |

Car looks good. If you love it then that's all the matters. Offer the seller $57k, and he should take it. But dont go higher then $59k. The seller is in a hurry and desperate to sell it, so he should take your offer anything under $59k. Good luck.

If you are going with Porsche, I'd strongly suggest a 997 turbo or an '09 or later model year "regular" 997.2(S) (4S).
Why? Direct injection. The 997.2 has roughly 40% fewer moving parts. does NOT have an intermediate shaft, which was a weak point in the 997.1 engines which sometimes led to catrostrophic engine failures. The 997.2 is a considerably better car. |
