Hey guys talked to RG and bearings are in production.
Have been very busy lately at normal job, a death in family and just returned from Munich. Will be more active again now that some things have calmed down a little. Cheers

Bearings are out of manufacture and passed inspection. Should be at coating now. |

Any idea if the plan is to sell them before testing has been completed? I know RG talked about extensive test plans prior but I don't think this point was discussed.

As far as the bearings going officially on sale that is still up to the vendor. Thanks everyone for the patience, this has been a long time coming.

Of course the "proof of the pudding" won't come from such simple measurements but only longer term wear testing with disassembly...

The engine being used is the long block that will be used to build my stroker. The engine was out of a wrecked 2009 unmodified car with 37000KM on it. The original bearings were removed and a brand new set of 702/703 BMW bearings swapped in to start the testing. Once all of the testing is complete I'm sure a photo of the original bearings from the engine will be posted, along with the 702/703's, the redesigned clevite bearings as well as all the data from the testing. Also, I am sure the crank and rods from that engine will all be measured once it is disassembled to start my engine build. |

news?
I'd be interested in the comparisons, particularly against the 702/3 bearings which I suspect my car has. Any update?
Also, will the manufacturer post to Australia? Thanks |

This is getting exciting guys.. I can't wait to see the results of the testing on these new bearings. I just had my S65 engine rebuilt (2x sort of) and have the VAC coated installed for now. My intention is to pull them out after about 10,000 miles to inspect them and hopefully by that time we have these new bearings on the market!!!
This is AWESOME work guys! |

I put in WPC treated stock bearings last year at 60k and am now approaching 70k. I will probably look at them at 120k, which will be in about 5 years. Hopefully some others who accumulate mileage much faster will have already inspected various replacement bearings after they have decent mileage on them.
