I just placed the order for 275/35/19 Rear and 255/35/19 Front. Really crossing my fingers that the rears won't rub with 10MM spacers lowered on H&R Springs.
I'm one of those people that always says you get what you pay for. It concerns me that these tires are cheaper than the $1600 I'm used to spending when I need all four. Came out to $1240 for the PSS's - all four mounted and balanced (Cash deal or it would be about $120 more). Not too bad! They should be on next week when I have time to drive to the tire shop - I'll report back with what I think. I haven't run anything but a PS/PS2 since 2003. |

On our stock rim size, what size PSS could I get away with F/R (trying to upsize a little)?

Mine are coming in today, I'm excited!
I won't have anytime to really drive it except about 20 or so miles. Tomorrow morning I'm dropping the car off at the shop for the LCI trunk and tail light retrofit. And then I'll get my baby back on Friday with a new trunk/lights and fresh tires ready to pounce! Also, if anyone wants to buy PS2 245/35/19 front, let me know. I think there's about 30% left, but I'll measure with a tire gauge once they are off the car. Last edited by BPMSport; 07-25-2011 at 01:43 PM.. |

My experience was similar with the PSS. Since pressure builds with heat, I expect the tread compound heat might be the greater culprit, if the issue is more one of grip and not handling balance.

While the tread heat can be an issue, in this case it was certainly the high tire pressure causing the loss of grip.

I got 295's last weekend. I'm lowered on Bilsteins and have some rubbing with my TE37 wheels which are a +22 offset. I hoping that raising the car and adding a little negative camber will correct it.

I’m not arguing, but genuinely curious, since my experience is similar to yours. But how do you know? Seems you would have to run that high pressure in a cold tire and see if you experience the same loss of grip. In my case, since I could only adjust the pressure between sessions, I lost all the heat, so I could not run them at the lower pressure, but still hot.

Thanks. I have a lot of track experience, mostly street tires, and it's all short session DE stuff, so I've never had the opportunity to make small adjustments and get right back on the track. My tire issues have always come up late in a session, and when I was able to check pressures, they were usually 40 or more. When I was able to max out at around 37-38, most tires seemed to work pretty well. So I have assumed that pressure was the issue, but really had no way to know for sure.

Hey Guys, the michelin.ca website shows 265/35/19 as an available size so I would assume that the us will soon follow with availability of that size. Here is a link http://michelinman.ca/tire-selector/...r-sport-tires?

i can confirm that the PSS do actually suffer in handling when pressures are over 38. i dropped mine signifigantly to 31 and 33 cold, so 35-37 hot and they handled much better than when i had them at 36 and 38 cold which was over 40 hot

I ran two sessions at Watkins Glen last week on the PSS, and I found them to be pretty good. One of my bolts was stripped, so I ran my street set up till I was able to get it off. I ran them at 38 psi hot, right after doing some hot laps. Don't run them any hotter IMO. They did not show any sign of abnormal wear and were predictable, we were running 40 minute sessions, so by the end they were a greasy, but that is normal with any street tire.
Good tire, but it you do track a few times a year, just get a different set up for track. In the long run, it will be cheaper then burning $$$ Michelin rubber.

Been running the PSS's for about a week or two. They are fantastic..
275/35/19 Rear and 255/35/19 Front. Just bought BBS LM's, so I'm looking to sell them to get 285's and 265's.. So if anyone wants fresh ones let me know.. |

Hi everyone,
I've heard that the Michelin pss is bigger than regular tires. Are they bigger as in terms of width? or taller sidewall? Im planning to get the Michelin PSS tires. My previous tires are Hankook Ventus V12. Front 235/40/18 Rear 265/35/18 I'm not sure which size to get for the Michelin pss front: 235/40/18?? or 255/35/18? Thanks for any input so I can order them accordingly. Dung

295/35 would be too tall. Probably have to run 295/25 or if you can fit it 305/25. I have 285/30 right now and I don't think you could go any wider in a 30 series. Even some 285/30s might not fit if they have really squared off shoulders since it already 0.5" taller than stock.
