I had it on my old e92 and had to have my DCT pan replaced due to warping from heat. Never knew if it was connected though. I never tracked the car.

What other mods did you have on it?

I have an 08 with both the ECU Motor Tune and GTS DCT Update and no issues to date. Had the car for over a year and drive it pretty hard as my daily. Not SC'd.

Whats the GTS tune like in D5 , does it rev match and predict gear changing from using the braking not just when u use the excelerator ? Just that it seems like the newer M4 and C63s do that thinking for you in D from what i can see on youtube vids ..

It does sometimes, but its not as active as you want it to be. Its still pretty good for active around town driving, but not smart enough for anything more.

Had mine done by Alex about 5 weeks ago and agree ... drive it a bit first so you'll see how much better it is.

I just had Alex flash my new to me 09 DCT and wow. My car is completely stock (except minor cosmetic mods) and this a significant change to the driving dynamics.

First I love that the car defaults to D mode. This makes it easier when I have to drop it off at my parking garage - no more explaining over and over to the guys to make sure they don't drive in 1st gear the whole time.

Memorizing the S mode is also great and an added convenience.

As everyone else here has said, the speed of the shifts is remarkable now, S3 feels as fast if not as violent as S4-5 used to. Now S5 is savage, throwing you forward and chirping the tires through 4th. I took a friend for a ride and he was amazed - was using words like savage and violent to describe wot shifts. Also the Rev matching seems better but who knows, I'm giddy.

As amazing as the shifts speed and precision in S mode is, the real game changer is the low speed drivability of D mode. It drives like a regular car now, no stuttering or bucking while slowing down in second or lurching when accelerating after slowing down.

As far as Alex he was great. Easy to schedule and super friendly. I had used my GFs new but cheap laptop. i3 and 4gb with a slow HD and it was the bottleneck for Alex. But we proceeded and it took about 45 min but that was due to the computer chugging along through his virtual machine.

For $110 (I had him do a bit of coding even though I have a Carly and load the euro MDM) I can't imagine a better value.

I was nervous during the process but believe me - it has to be the best money you can spend.
Just had Alex flash my 2013 E93 last night. I have to ditto this post as it speaks to exactly my experience. Alex did a fantastic job and was extremely flexible working with me. I recommend this upgrade!

I have to say, if you haven’t gotten the GTS DCT flash, get it. Especially if you’ve already done the Alpinemss engine tune. I drive mostly in D2 and the shifts are smooth and predictable. Alex@AlpineMSS really came through for me this week. First recovering my DME that I thought for sure I bricked and then flashing my DCT. He answered all my questions and handled it from afar. Thumbs up for Alex and this tune.

P.S. when my wife is not in the car, the M button gets pushed and then this combination really makes me smile

So I got my car about two months ago. Completely stock. When I shift to drive from neutral, it goes to D2. I never realized this car starts in manual mode (S3 I guess). Does this mean the previous owner put a DCT tune on the car?

When you start the car and do nothing but put it into gear, does it go to D mode or S mode? If it goes to D then you have a tune. If it goes to S you do not. The benefit of going into D is that if someone jumps into your car (valet) it will shift automatically for them.

Of course hitting the M button is all dependent on how you have it set up in the Idrive as to it starting in D or S.
