Slonik Vanos Hub Covers replacement

do you have a set of slonik covers available still?

Tackled mine today, surprisingly my oem vanos covers were in great shape, however they did crack when prying them off. Great feeling having the peace of mind with a permanent solution. I did have one question, what does the vanos cover actually do?

Looking good! From what I understand the one job it has is to keep the vanos spring from traveling out from its pins.

Thank you! I assumed the same, however seems like the spring is under so much tension that plastic would shatter.

Doesn't take much force to keep the spring in place, seems a groove in the outer pins could have done the job but ah well.

BMW could have saved everyone a whole lot of money and hassle if they just used an 80mm flat washer instead of a plastic cap. But that would be making things too easy...

I do my best to bridge the gap wherever customer service is lacking. So far out of 30 sets I've only had one hiccup with berns where USPS misdelivered, sent him another set that I had and dealt with insurance on my end.
