I too LOVE LOVE LOVE the DCT! I was contemplating it when I bought my car, especially because of my experience with the SMG3 out of an M6 (not impressed), but the DCT is just super responsive and pure excellence.

hey guys, i just installed a RPI GT race exhaust on my 08 E92 and every time i shift from 1st > 2nd > 3rd, there is a rattling noise right before the clutch disengages and goes into gear. is that just because of the cats being gone? it doesnt sound normal and i was wondering if anyone else had that problem when they shifted into gear with an aftermarket exhaust? thanks in advance!!

Just got my E92 a few weeks ago, but I'm in A-stan and only got to experience the M-DCT for like three days. I was amazed though! Awesome site too!

Please add me to the damned list :-( I'm a DIE-HARD heel-n-toe traditional manual guy, always have been... probably always will be. But I must admit the M-DCT tranny is seriously amazing. It's not as fun or involving as a manual-manual, but no doubt it is quicker, more flexible and more efficient. I love the tech and effectiveness, but I really DO miss that third pedal, not to mention gritting my teeth as I reflexively continue to heel-n-toe my way into awkward surges as I approach each light in my new Melbourne Red E90 M3 w/ M-DCT.

DCT in my car is great but sometimes I miss the clunkiness and the aggressive up shifts of the SMG. The DCT is better of coarse but the SMG had a hot rod feel to it, which is not for most but I am one of the few who liked it.
