I haven't shared this with anyone yet, but I got pulled over earlier today.
I accelerated medium-hard from a signal, and then slowed down to about 45-47 miles (on a 40 zone). Lucky me, I was viewing my rear view mirror as I pulled away, and I saw that an SUV cop raced past the other vehicles in order to get to me. And I saw when he was making his move right away, and I realized that it was a cop from long distance. And so when he finally caught up to me, he basically tailgaited me for about 3 minutes, and I kept consistent at 38-40 mph. Then, he finally turned on his lights. My radar never went off, so I imagine he never got a chance to tag my speed. I admit, I was going faster than I should a few minutes before I spotted him. He probably clearly heard my exhaust when I gunned it slightly, and then that gave him the idea to start following me. He was furious when he pulled me over. He told me that the streets aren't my race track. I agreed with him, and I apoligized twice to him. He decided to give me a verbal warning. And then I shook hands with him and said 'thank you'. There, I just wanted to get this story out of my stomach. Whew. WHEW! |

just another reason of many why i've given up on loud exhaust. cool with your car buddies, but attracts too much negative attention otherwise. before i returned my m3 back to stock, i got pulled over by addison police in much of the same fashion. he thought i was hauling ass but i wasn't, tried to ticket me for anything he could, but wound up giving me a warning because he had nothing on me. bastids!
i've met a few car guy cops, including a couple that have lit me up , and those are the best to deal with given our nice cars. they appreciate a car that's got a lot of wrench time and won't gripe about exhausts, tint, etc. but they're hard to find |

I try! There are always the jealous, arrogant, and racist cops. What can we do..
I dislike studying 10 hours a day for subjects I don't care about.

Though I have to admit that I've run into some very good cops. I don't mean the one's that let people go all the time and don't care. I mean the one's that know how to stay neutral and fair while making the most appropriate decisions in order to make the world a better place. Those are the cops that understand that peace is more of an answer, compared to aggression. Quote:

Don't even get me started on tickets. I honestly have never been given a warning. In fact, when I get pulled over I usually leave with one ticket for 5 citations and fines. It's unbelievable. My record is 9 in a month. No joke.

I probably average 1-2 tickets a year. And I already think that's pretty bad. |

Would hate to see your insurance bill. Mine's high enough w/zero tickets--ever.
