This was also the last public tack in Cali that I had to drive. With the exception of thermal, all tracks complete.
So what did you think? Any pucker moments?

Initial thought was this track is way faster than ACS. It was kinda difficult to actually know if I was braking in the right spots enough or if 100+ mph was solid through a turn. I did try to go WOT turn 5-8 but I'd eventually lift a little. This is a fun track for sure.

5-8 is a pucker in the E9xM3. Just keep saying to yourself "this is just an extension of the straight". No fun at all due to the bumps in 8 either (stay a 1/2 car width off the inside of 8 for a slightly smoother turn).

Most time in the turns seems to be lost in 1 (super banked) and 4 (faster than it looks). If you f'up 9 you lose time all the way to 1. Gotta nail that one and 5 for a good lap.

So, I just got back from WSIR as well. After unpacking my car, I'm not looking forward to spending another 1.5 hours swapping my pads. I'm totally jealous of you guys just swapping your pads while you are swapping your wheels at the track. So... I decide to go ahead and pull the trigger on a BBK. I've been keeping an eye on the classifieds and a used StopTech trophy ST60/ST40 came up about a week ago for $5k even. Pretty good price but it was drilled instead of slotted and I wasn't sure I wanted the ST60 up front. It sold quickly. Fast forward to yesterday and I decided to check pricing on Bimmerworld. They had the ST40/ST40 kit for ~$5400 shipped. Pretty good price as well. I decided no sense in ordering on a Sunday so I'd wait until Monday. Thought maybe I'd take a look at the classified's again and can you believe that someone was selling a BNIB ST60/ST40 trophy kit for $5k shipped? And it was just posted so I was able to pick it up.

But wait, there's more. That kit was posted by someone in Vancouver BC. Today, someone posted the identical kit (BNIB as well) for the same price but they are in Orange County (just an hour's drive from me). The first person to post on that thread was, you guessed it, from Washington. So I contacted the other parties and re-arranged things so I'm buying the kit from the OC seller and he's buying the kit from the PNW seller. That saves shipping charges for both sales and I get my kit tomorrow instead of late next week so I can install it this weekend. Talk about the planets aligning :-)

Can't wait for Spring Mountain in 3 weeks.

nice! i'm flip flopping on a few mods... i'm eyeballing an afe xpipe with high flow cats, another set of track wheels (which would help maximize track tire life), or finishing my essex setup with a rear brake kit. i know eventually i'll get all of them, i just can't go crazy at the moment.
i think i'm getting an antigravity battery (no matter what) and one of the above.

what fluid/pads are you going with?

SRF for fluid. I'm going to give the G-Loc R10's a try. Currently using PFC08's but want to try something new.

My sister lives near the Red Rock casino in Summerlin, about an hour from Spring Mountain so I'm staying with her.

what i like about the afe, is that the high flow cats don't throw a check engine light (i verified this when i talked to an engineer at their open house. i also heard it on the owner's m3, and it sounded fantastic with no rasp (resonated).
i also like that they post their easy to read dyno charts.
they tested a base m3 in the morning, put an xpipe on, and dyno'd it again. at warmer temps later in the day, it made 50tq and 27hp - no tune.
http://afepower.com/media/pdp-files/...1468022201.jpg

this is the resonated version i am getting.
http://afepower.com/afe-power-49-363...teel-race-pipe

i will eventually get a tune, but it will likely be a dyno tune after i get mild cams. i'll run it as-is soon.

also in the works is the dinan front strut brace. i'm going to run it triangulated with the oem braces. oh, and i'm going to get an anti-gravity battery. just a few things... :

i just found it on Walmart... https://www.walmart.com/ip/aFe-Power...&wl13=&veh=sem

hahahah... anyways you got me thinking though.. If the check engine light does not come on, this one may be worth it.. I'm sure the only way to get the "max" gains is with a tune

yea, a tune is the way to maximize things with these, but i'm not going to do so just yet. i don't want to do a tune yet, and i don't want to look at the SES light, so this is a win-win for me.
i'm sure its a little less weight as well, but not like an akra or anything. i'll be posting a detailed review and video.

i'm sure you will notice a difference. pretend that is 35 lbs out of a 3,500 lb car. thats 1%. however, run around changing directions with 1% of your body weight on top of your head... you'll notice.

Had another track day at MSRH with the Houston 86 Club. I was the only V8 in my run group, so I had to make sure no one passed me
