1. Changed my Rod Bearings to VAC coated bearings with APR bolts. Check out the old ones.
2. Installed test pipes. M3 World test pipes (Australian Made)
3. BPM stage II tune.

It sounds very raspy and aggressive under full throttle compared to stock, and almost as quiet as stock when cruising round. The power gain is significantly noticeable and makes it a much more enjoyable drive making me floor it more often than usual

The EAS ones are single walled and I was hoping for more of a beefy looking double walled option. Thanks though!

You just used steel wool by hand? Any metal polish afterwards? I have an MPE that needs a lot of cleaning.

No metal polishers. I do not want my tips shiny. You could use a polishing compound and pad to get the desired, OEM results.

I preferred the brushed look and achieved this with the #0000 steel wool

I know and that was something I struggled with during my search for replacements tips. I like the original tips and was not hopeful of getting mine back to a condition I would have deemed acceptable. Aftermarket tips were another avenue that concerned me. They never really gave me the look I wanted or they were unreasonably priced.

In the end I was happy with the results of my labour.

Hi SimpleM3, my car is a 2008. The top half bearings looked bad especially with the copper coming through on almost all of them.
I wonder how much longer they had before failure.

No, that would have been ideal and I had been researching it, but then I had a run-in with a large bolt, and had to replace one (read: both) rear tire at Discount a couple weeks ago in an emergency because they couldn't patch the hole in the tire. They only stocked the 265's, and mine is a daily driver, so I really had no options.

Yesterday, I went to my preferred mechanic who installed new fronts (245) ordered from Tire Rack to match the rears, and did the alignment, likely the first alignment since the car was purchased.

So, in actuality, yesterday I only got 2 new tires, but the long version of the story was TMI for the original post...
