There was a Dyno thread by ECS where a dyno was taken down. I didn't read the whole thing, but it turned into two venders going at it.

ESS? Their seemed to be something brewing between them for a while. Benvo seemed to be the more level headed. Too bad.

I run Forgestar CF10's street and track. They're reasonably light weight and look to be very well made. I have spoken with people at Forgestar and ran other sets of their wheels on various cars on and off track. Never had an issue, and the employees I spoke with seemed quite competent. One set of F14's I ran was from the beginning of Forgestar as a company.
Can't speak for the other brands, although I'll say Apex seems to be very well-ran and I wouldn't hesitate to run them if I wanted light 18's. |

I read thru all of these post just now.
In a nut-shell. ADV.1 caters to a certain demographic and operates a business within these means, all power to them. Not going to hate, as they are a business entity like all other business entities on this forum. However, the choice is simple to me. 5K for a set of ADV.1 wheels or 5K for a set of BBS wheels. Youre damn right i will buy BBS over ADV.1.

I know this topic is about TUV certification and clearing up who has got what papers etc etc but I just wanted to ask, has anyone ever heard of an ADV1 wheel cracking or breaking?
Since they are put onto some seriously powerful cars it would be interesting to know how their wheels hold up in the real world compared to HRE for example. I'm not trying to support anyone here, just curious. |

There are not many wheels that compare to HRE. They supply numerous professional racing teams around the globe!

I didn't want to compare them wheel to wheel with HRE, it would just be interesting to find out if half of ADV1's wheels cracked when used on powerful cars or if they have about the same durability as the competition..
Is it that awkward to say "I have seen X amount of ADV wheels cracked" or "none of them have cracked"? What's so strange about that? |

It says the wheels meet the standards not that they are certified. My wang is tuv certified, but i don't have any proof for it. But you should believe it cuz i said so. |

There are 17 pages to read through so apologies if someone has already mentioned it.
If you look carefully the "certified" wheel on the right bounces much more than the one on the left. Ie the bed which the fake wheel sits on is more rigid whilst the one on the right is not. Therefore the load put on the fake wheel is greater. Less movement of the bed means greater forces put on the wheel itself. |

^ Double posting is not looked on too favorably. Neither spot was really a good place for your question. These threads were old and pretty dead. Post a new topic for this type of question.

Been to the track with them a few times too. I still wish they'd get some form of certification. .

Over about 8 years I've put 2 sets of RAC Monolites (1-piece forged in Japan and JWL certified) through a lot of street abuse on my m3 and have total confidence in them. They remain true and balanced. Finding good forged wheels for SUVs is much harder. And most SUV owners don't seem to have a clue about quality. The extra cost for quality wheels is worth it to me.
