Im in the middle of the install now. Backing the bulb in was a huge plus. Glad someone mentioned that before i attempted to start this.
Passenger side went in without much problem. Driver side is testing the durability of my skin. Tabs wont line up and driving me nutso. I do have to say though, these things are amazing. Pictures do not do them justice at all.

Just got done installing my pair. Took me 15 minutes for BOTH sides. I'm somewhat of an expert when installing after-market angel eye bulbs, as I've probably done it over 8 times now. I even have a DIY for GP Thunder angel eye bulbs here btw:
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=186302 Anyway, don't let some of the pictures posted above deceive you, which makes the Lux V3's light output look like an aqua-ish blue. The color of the LED bulbs (in person) is a pure white with a very very slight hint of blue. I am very happy with the color. I'll update with pictures in the daytime later this week. |

I can not get the camera to capture these at all. Cant wait to see these in the daytime though. No doubt they will be just as noticeable as the OEMs during the day.
I'd like to say thanks to Lux for some fast shipping and great response time. Its been a pleasure! No clue why i waited so long to do this!

Thanks for the pictures!!! the 3rd picture down was taken too close and on an odd angel, that is why you cant see the outer ring lit up. Its due to the physical design of the OEM ring inside the headlight

Can anyone confirm this.
I've heard that the OEM stock bulbs are actually hotter than the LUX H8 v3. Is this true??? If so thats a great fact to know and good sale point for LUX. |

the OEM Bulbs are 35 watts, and the LUX are under 10 watts, so by drawing less power they produce less heat. Over time the LED Heat Sink does get hot to the touch, but they are still cooler the stock halogen bulbs

Are the bulbs in stock right now or in production/on back order? Just checking on my order placed on the 15th. No rush, just anxious! Thanks.

Question here that I am sure others would be interested in as well. The OEM bulbs do not have heat sinks correct? So they are not getting hot other than the glass bulb. If these units have heat sinks that are getting hot to the touch what is the possibility of it doing some type of damage on the wiring since it is so tight in there?
I will most likely order a set after my car arrives in 2 weeks (hopefully) just have these concerns.

Longer answer - halogen bulbs create much more heat and their heat dissipates mostly as light. that heat comes from the glass of the bulb and goes outwards into the surrounding area. If you were to touch the bulb while it was on you would instantly burn your finger. With LED's all the heat goes out the back of the LED into a heatsink. There is a large enough heatsink on the LUX to absorb the heat and dissipate the heat out to prevent it from getting too hot. |

Clarifying: So the heatsink will not get hot enough to burn, melt, or damage any wires/objects that are near/touching the heatsink correct?

@LuxAngelEyes - Yes you have answered it earlier and I just have to make sure that this will be fine. My new 70k car will arrive in 3 weeks and I would hate to have any issues. There have been some other posts about other upgrades (not yours) that have metled the plugs for some odd reason.
I will probably order a set in 3 weeks when my car comes in so I can have the full warranty with them in my vehicle. Thanks for the information.

Thanks.

Hmmm...I just got an error on iDrive "Left Daytime lamp/parking lamp out." and had a picture of the light bulb between the speedo and tach. I wonder if the Lux kit has caused this or if my left parking lamp is really out. It's intermittent problem. It happened for 5 seconds and the error cleared by itself. Came on after 20 min of driving, then off again. I know that the E92 was notorious with a left or right brake lamp malfunction error. This was due to loosely fitted bulb.

uninstall the lux's, reinstall the oem h8 bulbs and see what happens...and/or check to see everything is plugged in tightly/fully with the lux's

The Lux has only one connector...and yeah it's tight. I can tell you that it's installed properly. The OEM connector simply plugs into the connector on the LUX. The OEM connector is clipped and snaps into place for a secure connection. Right now, I think it's not the day time running light...but the parking light. Stupid that BMW can't make two independent warning message for the DRL and the parking lot, but rather just lumps the error code into one.
