Also, I am interested to hear about any changes in the shift feel.

Looking to switch shift knobs
Looking to switch ideally to the illuminated F10 M5 knob for my E90 M3... can someone point me to which is the correct one to purchase? When i look at sites like FCP and Turner, it says that does not fit the E90. Thanks!

That's because it's not a direct fit and some modification is required. See OP's post and also there's some guides on YouTube. But since you have to modify it to fit E9x, don't think they would sell it as a direct fit for E9x.

Hey I did this mod years ago and just noticed recently it’s not lighting up at night anymore. Could this be a fuse issue or should it pop it off and see if it got disconnected or something?

So: I have 3 shifters/boots. Stock one is currently installed. I also have an IND tri-stitch boot with stock shifter and stock plastic ring with clips, and I have an M5 shifter and boot. While I know most folks transferred the M5 boot to the M3 ring… what I would like is the M5 shift knob on the IND tri-stitch boot. So that means cutting. It seems BIGW0RM and waterpanda had the best luck with this approach? I’ll try searching elsewhere too before just cutting things up… welcome any other advice. Thanks, Mike
