i'm starting to plan my first trip to laguna seca for '17. planning on being up there april 14-16. the girlfriend and i had such a great time at the mission ranch in carmel, i think we may stay there instead of our "usual" spot at the quail lodge.

i should be able to make it back up there in june for bimmer challenge at laguna seca.

So i switched to Ravenol 10W60 oil and it runs cooler on the street and track. On the street it is just under 210. At the track (CVR) it ran cooler than others. I will test it out at T Hill 2 mile this weekend and report back as that is a track I have run before and know what the temps can/should be at.. more to follow

Since I don't have any exams this week or projects. Spend the weekend at home and got the cage test fit and all the tar mat and adhesive out. What a project it was. Between the paper mat sound deadening and tar mat took about 50 pounds off!

I'm doing the I-40 2400 mile marathon race to my temp quarters in Alexandria, VA starting March 10th or 11th. Anyone want to go? Pilot Super Sports in March. What could go wrong?

M3. Professionals will move my crap once my new place is built (June/July) or when my house in Vegas sells. Whichever is first.

Better, more fulfilling job. Losing money in the deal but instead of worrying about pennies and being at the mercy of people I didn't respect, I'm helping lead the direction of a huge gov't program.

I jumped about 4-5 levels up the management chain in one step. When my former bosses figured this out (it took them quite a while to get their heads around it, they were all ). Now I'm kind of a big deal. Sucks to be them.

Let's put it this way, while waiting at the airport to fly to DC for my new job, the President of Bechtel National called me to say congrats. [/humblebrag] Too bad as a fed the pay sucks (but remember, we're all overpaid and lazy per the ever so effective congress-critters -- my contractor counterparts make 6x my salary or more). I am #2 in a $6b/year enterprise (estimated $350b+ life cycle cost).

It's all a bit daunting but I'm already making a positive difference so I'm happy. Very fulfilling work. Days fly by in minutes. The pace is crazy but I'm not tired at the end of the day. Love it.

That's why I took it.

admranger - DC isn't a bad place to be a track day junkie! There is a local M Club track day at the new Dominion road course at the end of April if you're all settled in by then.

I wish I could have made it, I've heard very good things about the way the MVP events are run. Enjoy!

Did another webinar of our aim data with redpriest and AriuSen for chuckwalla. Note oil temps. Liquimoly vs ravenol. Up to 12 degrees cooler for liquimoly.

Liquimoly - second session 3rd lap
Ravenol - second session 4th lap

Looked at liquimoly 4th lap bit was still cooler.

Liquimoly is 6mt with 50k miles on car.
Ravenol is dct with 150k miles on car.

Conclusion. Can't really. Lol

Interesting, I've heard the opposite on the E46 forums - guys with Ravenol are saying lower oil temps. Possibly car with DCT has higher oil temps compared to 6MT? You guys are using the 10w-60 Race Tech GT1?
