so i took the car out for a fun day trip today. for you socal guys, take your girlfriend/wife/etc., to the cabazon outlets off the I10 near that casino. then head up the 243 to idyllwild from the 10. fantastic drive (i've done it a bunch). have lunch up there, enjoy the shops (my favorite mexican restaurant la casita is up there), and drive down the 243 to hemet.
the carbon driveshaft feels great. car seems to spin up a little faster, but definitely not a huge improvement in that department. the car does feel less laggy when cruising in 7th at 80 mph. the real improvement is the "feel" of the car. it is smoother, yet more direct. definitely less clunking with my dct (even though i have solid/derlin sub/diff bushings). shifts are more crisp, yet smoother. the car isn't decelerating as fast as it used to when coasting- and i'm definitely not imagining that. my girlfriend (who doesn't fully understand the benefits of the carbon driveshaft) noted it was smoother just a few seconds into the spirited drive up the mountain. overall, this was money well spent. so far in the "feels good" department, i have ground control camber plates, fall line monoballs, mrf subframe/turner derlin diff bushings, and the m factory carbon driveshaft. this is a great recipe!

That's my only concern with the CF driveshaft is vibration > 100 mph. I saw some people who had the Fall-Line version have bad luck with it.

Edit: Found them http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=995406 He calls them "flaps". Turns out they aren't as cheap as I thought. If you scroll to the last page, he does list some for $375. Last edited by macdude357; 02-07-2017 at 12:51 PM.. |

Would you track or autox on a tire with a slow leak? Slow enough that the TPMS goes off every two months or so.

On a car with wide front Adwheels and tires I wonder whether this would make just as much difference as the types of cosmetics-first splitters most people run to overall lap time. There's a lot of spinning tire exposed to the air with your typical 18x10 et25 front setup and I bet those help clean things up a good bit at higher speeds

yea, i run 10.5's and they stick out a little bit.
i had a garage next to a guy a while back at auto club. he had a supercharged space grey m3 with all the big aero bits, including these spats. he liked them.

Go to a tire shop and get them to take the tire off, inspect it and, if possible, patch and remount. I had to do this to one of my RE-71Rs that was damaged after an 'off' at Laguna Seca. Two events later and it's still in good shape!
