ok, finally in!...took 30 min's flat...here are the keys... trying to keep track of where the tabs is pointing isnt helpful imho as when your hands are down there you cant see the back of bulb(heat sink)...its all feel...my problem yesterday was I was trying to twist with the tips of my fingers with no leverage...this wont work...I had to shove most of my hand into the hole/work area(with some pain) and feel the inferior side of the back of bulb...then you can tell you are flush...then keep rotating in the opposite way you took out H8 bulb until it finally catches...you can tell cause all of a sudden you can feel resistence and the bulb gets tighter...there is a crack of daylight in which you can see the bulb from the front, make sure the bulb is straight.
BTW, Geneatal had great advice yesterday when he said to grab the bulb at the mid point with fingertips and back it in, all the way to bottom of the pit and try to work the tip into the hole/slot...this method worked way better than what I was doing yesterday. For me the key was to shove my entire hand in there and really grab the back of bulb and feel what you are doing...even getting underneath the back of bulb...this is my story and I am sticking to it......once again, key is to get your hand in there even if you tear a few ligaments haha. I wonder if one more of the LED's in the Array is out. I would pull it out see if all of the LED are emitting before you try to reinsert it.

Installed my LUX H8's today. Took around 20 min for first one and 10 min for second one.
First pic is after first one was installed. Second pic is after both installed. Really happy with this. Totally improves the look of the car. No more yellowish angel eyes, just bright white! Only problem is that after unlocking the car multiple times to see them light up, the rings stop coming on. I have been doing this all day because I keep on wanting to look at them (slight obsession). Only when I start the car do they start working again. Anyone got any thoughts on this?

I'm interested in the answer to this question too. I have not ordered a set yet.
Currently, my incandescent angel eye bulbs "fade up" in brightness when I unlock my car. Since the LUX are LED, I would expect them to come on immediately to full brightness after unlocking the car. Marc, how are the LUX supposed to operate when unlocking the vehicle? Quote:

mact3333 and Geneatal , thanks for your posts, it took me about 10 min each side. They look great, had to take it for a night run to check them out, nice difference from OEM.

Day time viz?
Can anyone chime in as to how bright/intense these LEDs are compared to the 2011 AE? I currently have the RD leds and they look great at night but barely visible during the day. Love the look of the AEs on the '11 models and wondering if only HIDs or OSS can achieve that level of day light intensity or if these new LUX LEDs can as well?

I've decided on getting the LUX H8 v3
Couple of questions if someone can help me out with. Been searching on with one to get for awhile, so I'm all searched out. so, has anyone who has the LUX H8 v3 for awhile now experience any yellowing inside the headlamp or anywhere else. I've been told to watch out with that. Want to clarify LUX are 100% LED right? Also, does anyone know hot they LUX H8 v3 gets? |

I was waiting for Kit to change to another set of bulbs so I could pick up his leftovers. LOL. Can't wait to see the difference to the Weisslichts.
And Crazy Bimmer, no need to unhook the battery, I've done these simple bulb changes with just the lights off.

LUX are 100% LED, which you can see in our pictures Temp - They do get very hot over time and its recommended not to touch them after they have been running for 20+ minutes. Since they draw very little wattage they will take a while to get hot. |
