ugh so true.....my left foot has the tactile acuity of a dead jellyfish....no manuals for me. So, yesteryear....and slower! And I bet I would have replaced clutches several times by now!

Never had a DCT overheat warning That long shift means more time for the engine to cool down too Also, the aero is better with half of the trans cooler blocked off. I've found this to be a big deal when racing DCT cars past 180mph...the manual car just slips away into the distance as soon as they hit 7th Maybe you should retrofit to an SMG

And great to see the project in the flesh. Here’s to a better 2022 with less problems, but isn’t the journey half the fun? Keith |

Really enjoyed hanging out with you at the WR Teknica booth. Always fun to shoot the breeze with other enthusiasts. But we gotta get you back into BMW land!! What’s this P-car nonesense!? ![]() Yeah, hopefully 2022 can have less issues. The journey in 2021 definitely was not half the fun……. ![]() When are ya back out there? |

I need to get back to CA and test the car before the SV event. Looking into doing NASA TT maybe as a test on the 8th.
Ugh, they’re saying omicron could be as infectious as measles……not making me too excited to travel……but I gotta try to figure it out. |

Yeah. The Motel 6 (deadly diseases) is especially quaint.

My wife believes camping is a hotel that doesn't have room service.

Ah very cool! I don’t even know where to see the SDC pix. Where are they?
Btw, I just want to take a moment and say that the guys from SoCal Drivers Club put on a really nice event. I haven’t talked about their events more because I’ve been having so many tech issues. But yeah, really nice events from the SDC guys. Happy New Year everyone! |

One more cool pic from Goner Photo. I really like this pic because it does a great job showing what my whole rig looks like in the middle of a track day:
![]() Got some new info today regarding my transmission issues. EAS went back into my original transmission and dug deeper into it. And they found that a BUNCH of bolts were loose inside the transmission. Some were LITERALLY about ready to fall out. Given this new info, the question is, can we just tighten up everything in the original transmission and would it be good to go? SSP never shipped the new clutches for whatever reason......so, I have put a stop on those. My theory is---I have my original stock clutches sitting in a box. And I am quite sure nothing is wrong with them given that other clutches made no difference. I can test the new trans out with those if I want. The thinking is---if it's not clutches, and I need a third trans, I would rather not spend over $2k on SSP clutches if that's not the problem and then still need another trans. EAS won't be taking my car apart until Wednesday, so I guess we'll know more then. Yowza.......so much to consider. Regardless of what we do, I'm flying to LA on Friday to pick up the car. Buttonwillow is hosting a practice day on Friday. If all goes according to plan, I should be able to get to the track in time for the practice day to test the car. All I need is a couple hot laps to see if the transmission is ok. NASA is at Buttonwillow this weekend. I've signed up for the TT on Saturday. If the car works, then I'll be able to chill out and do the NASA TT day on Saturday. If it doesn't work, then thing get more complicated. The NASA event should prove to be interesting if I'm able to participate. They're running 25CW including the A-section. NASA is famous for running less familiar configs at Buttonwillow to keep everyone on their toes. Comparing 25CW to 13CW: 25CW w/A-section means when you get to Off-Ramp, you don't make the first right, you skip the tight right and go to the extended turn. You go straight at Club Corner and skip the whole Bus Stop complex. You skip Sweeper and go down to Star Mazda. I've never driven the A-section before. So, I hope I get a chance to do this config. NASA TT sign ups are pretty light right now. Only 14 total TT competitors so far. I plan on running DH scrubs so I'll have to run in TTU. There's only two of us so far. Anyway, lots of stuff to consider this week. Starting 2022 off with quite the flurry of activity! Here's what 25CW with A-section looks like: ![]()
