Got a lot of potential this! If they keep the front end sensible it could be the perfect F82 M4 replacement.

The 5 series exhaust seems random, but anyone else notice how much smaller the driver side window is compared to our 2 series'?

grill looks wide rather than tall. I think that looks much better than the ugly bugs bunny grills.

Agreed

Higher belt line definitely makes the side windows much smaller

Is that a quad exhaust and a square gas cap door? I thought Ms had round tailpipes and gas caps. I'm thinking (hoping) this is not the M2. Of course most BMW traditions have been shown the door by Ducek..

Also, do you all think the M2 going to have single headlights?

Fake exhaust outlets are absolutely terrible in every single application, especially here. SMH

I wish the wait to see the final product was not going to be so long.

For those interested, Motor1, and Carscoops have their own reports on these Ring sightings.

I think the car shown here is most likely a M240i and if you look at all other "M Performance" models, all of them have these weird fake-exhausts. It's sad because the 30i models (e.g. 330i, 430i) all look so so much better in the back than the M340i and M440i.

Nonetheless it looks good I think. I think the head- and taillight design is not so good but thinking back how ugly I found the 2-Series when it launched, I am 100% sure the new one will make me as happy as my current F22!

Probably only in M form.
Yes it seems that's the trend, manuals will be only limited to M2,3,and4

The tail lights are incorporated into the trunk line
Lem

Going back to 'debate' we had a few pages ago. . . and I conceded I was wrong in my deciphering what was under the camouflage.

I ultimately realized BMW went to trouble of putting two panels on each side of trunk line to 'hide' the tail light architecture.

In the pic below you can clearly see light across the trunk line.

While the grills appear to be at least somewhat proportional to the rest of the car (that's a good thing!), I am not excited about these headlights...

The ever-evolving adaptations of the corona rings is always a nice thing to see on new BMWs...these lights look like a lot of other lights on the market, which seems like a strange direction to go.

The G87 is the new G82 . . . the G80 and G82 are dead to the BMW enthusiast world.

Looking like they may be going to a single reflector for the headlights low and high. Not sure how that may look.
