I tried the settings from the OP and really did not like it compared to the settings it had from the factory. Does anyone else know the default settings for the 13'E92?
Or can anyone vouch for some other settings for a 13'E92? |

Why wouldn't it be the same for the E92 specs posted here?

There are no default settings other than everything set to the middle cuz that's how my car showed up. What genre are you listening to.

Default settings are flat EQ, which sounds awful.

No, lol, I mean he wondered if the new E92 settings would be the same as an older model.

I don't see why they would have changed it over the years. The speakers and amps are exactly the same.

Is it possible he doesn't have the upgraded individual Dirac system.

I used the op's settings on mine, but on a lower the scale....I subracted 7 for each EQ frequency, the curve is the same , just lower in scale. Bass treble are the same as his, sounds warmer and less harsh on midbass frequencies and the treble isn't shrieky. I have sensative ears, I like my sound to roll off naturally on both extremes, I'm a sucker for good midrange.

Question about volume
My first post, as I am new to this forum.
I have a 2013 M3 coupe with premium sound. And I am a bit confused with what the dealer stated about the radio, cd player etc. After the car is shut off for at least 10 minutes with the sound system on, when you restart the car the volume is way down low, sometimes so low you think the system is off. There response is that it is a safety feature. They went as far as telling me if I allowed someone to use my car if would not startle them. My response to that was "lend my car your kidding" Just want to know anyone have this problem with the premium sound? |

Tried the OP's settings and with only some slight tweaks, found it very appealing. Thank you for your contribution!
PS: I slipped in an SACD just to see if it would play and low and behold, it did! Awesome! |

Anyway, I think the volume does start out at some lower level so that you don't get blasted out in case you left it up. I find that on radio setting the volume is just fine when I turn on the car. I do find the DVD audio is ridiculously low, then when you switch to other sources its blasting. That's a major issue.

Used the Malek settings last night and all I can is brilliant!
Because of the music I normally listen to, I do however have to adjust the bass depending on the song but that's nothing against the settings, I do that all the time even in my other vehicles..

Because you have speakers in different places and totally different acoustics...

The info on how to apply the curves is wrong. Adding gain is never the correct answer when using a car audio EQ. Multiple people have spoken up about this in the thread but their comments have fallen on deaf ears. If you boost rather than cut you're adding distortion and throwing away amplifier power. What you want to do is find a curve you like, write it down and then take the Band that gets the largest bump and put it at zero. Now use that band as a reference point for setting all of the other bands below zero rather than above it. You get more volume and less distortion in the end.

I then played a few known tracks and went through each band and got them right. Most of my settings are only one or two off the very bottom. The thing that blows is xm and Bluetooth and MP3s sound like ass and there's nothing you can do but carry around CDs to get decent sound. What else no one is doing is EQing the car while moving. Sitting in a quiet garage and using an RTA will produce very different results than while moving at speed. |

Did it play the SACD track or just the regular CD tracks for backward compatibility? SACD is red book compatible.
