The op comes across to me as a loyal guy, after his first engine failure, He kept the failure quiet and went back to ESS, and similarly for his second engine failure. More loyal than say a guy who gets a tuning co. To replace his engine after his first failure then runs to their competition. |

I brought this up because you'd think a tuning co. Would reward a long time loyal customer by making sure his kit comes complete with all that's needed for safe op. I said "more loyal", not "disloyal". |

For someone who doesn't know the facts, I could see how you might infer or say what you did, or if you have a bias, facts don't mean much, you tend to believe what you want too or add your own ideas of what the facts are. My past situation with that engine happened years ago, that company and I are cordial now. I have no desire to go into specific details just because you brought it up to make a point, but I was lucky, others not so lucky, friends of mine not so lucky in this type of situation. I have not once come into this thread and blasted Sergei, I feel bad for him, regardless of what he did or didn't do.

![]() Nothing you've posted has been based on data or basic tuning/aftermarket performance..... All you've done since your 1st post on Page 1 is post garbage, pick battles with the ESS reps & Drew, and place blame on ESS because the OP's engine detonated. Facts: The OP allegedly has increased boost beyond what ESS has tune & designed the kit for. This has resulted in 2 stock motor failures. The OP then decided to go VT3/Low Compression, the exact same setup that Drew has been running reliably for 2 yrs/15k miles. The OP failed to have the recommended gauges installed, rushed ESS through their tuning and the vehicle was prematurely released back into his possession. Shortly after, it was discovered that the fuel system not operating 100%, compression was off on a cylinder, a spark plug was toasted, AND the car had surging with anything beyond 1/4 throttle (so it is load related). The OP continued to drive the car in this condition without gauges, eventually leading to the engine's failure. IF the VT3 (just like ANY car, stock or modified) is run "healthy", the car will run reliably & strong. BUT if the car isn't taken care of or run with known "problems", it doesn't matter if it's an S65, S54, or 2JZ you're now driving a bomb. |

AJ did state on public that ESS would repair the engine at their cost.
In private I was told that I should pay for the cost it would take ESS to rebuild without retail margin... Quite different stories I think... The amount I indicated is the actual cost in that case. No way, thanks. Last edited by filinm3; 01-18-2014 at 10:39 AM.. |

I saw this at a shop... “A customer is the most important visitor on our premises. He is not dependent on us—we are dependent on him. He is not an outsider in our business—he is a part of it. We are not doing him a favour by serving him . . . he is doing us a favour by giving us the opportunity to do so.” |

I should tell you that irrespective of anything I am in love with ESS like a girl loves a boy just because....))))) And I still want this car be supported by ESS in future... I want the car to come back on the road ASAP... But as of now I am simply fucked off by ESS... Hope, AJ would change his mind and come back for cooperation ![]() As for current rebuild, I am dependent on AJ in order of those 2 pistons from Mahle cause he is the only person who could order them... Hope, he would do this... Otherwise, shitty story from any perspective. |

Another option is to contact a few "race" shops that have BMW experience to build you a one-off setup. EX: VAC Motorsports, who is more than capable of building you a one off setup to your liking -- Stroker Motor, Supercharged, Turbocharged, etc. I'm sure there's a few others, but at the end of the day the S65 is a good old fashion, Port-Injection, High Revving, 4L V8, the Alusil composition is the biggest variable (can be addressed with some block reinforcement to avoid any flex, a billet block is another option). Any reputable fabricator & tuner should be able to build you the setup you desire (including Total Race since I know you're from Russia). |

If ESS decided to return me lets say $15k, I could consider going another big project... But as of now I should do something with my current situation and repair the engine but it appears that simple changing of that 2 pistons and bearings could not guarantee that the engine would not blow again simply due to shitty tolerances... Do not know what to do really... |
