I agree. The same applies to the E46 CSL too. BMW could've built that with a manual. It was a conscious decision not to.

rear definitely has the Hommage chaos, but wish they would replicate its old school lines too!

Gearbox will differ as this uses a transaxle arrangement, i doubt grille will populate other models also as this car is supposedly completely carbon panelled. This is a bespoke car despite the 4 series underpinnings thus i dont see much at all filtering down.
BTW For this sort of money I think this car should have been outsourced to an independant designer for a complete new look to enforce the bespoke element, rather than just use a rehashed design of a G82, we have the CSL already for that.

I mean, we all have something to conplain about *ahem, the XM and M2, ahem*. I can't wait for E46 CSL owners to go like "Thank god I got mine!"

Let's keep in mind that BMWs current design boss and his right hand are outspoken enemies of Hofmeister design language. They are literally on a mission to undo the typical BMW design cues to allow for "fresh & new" ideas.

In other words, their arrogant, megalomaniac egos to put their finger print on the cars is costing BMW its identity BUT will also increase its sales in the regions that matter most to an identity-less BMW.

I am sure that all those who complain about this car are missed potential buyers of this 700k car

Best bet is that the 3.0 CSL is exempt from crash safety regulations that allows for that hoodline, either because it is not street legal, or because only around 50 will be built.

I think it's already been confirmed that this will not be street legal in the US and any US owners are just going to be importers with show car paperwork

I can't imagine a us collector or two didn't get their hands on one considering it's a 1 off car they are just going to sit in collections anyway not registered to be driven

If/when they do, they'll be registered as collector's cars and I believe they are limited to a small amount of accrued mileage per year.

Exactly, country of origin won't matter at that point
