Adam,
How is the splitter mod working on track? It looks like it has a large gap between the bottom splitter and the upper brake duct splitter. Also wanted to see, what rear view camera and display are you running? That is a really cool set up if it works well. Since I copied all of your other electronics, I figure why not this one too? Thanks Jim |

Take aways from Road Atlanta.
Love this track. Ran a 1:37.256 and was on pace for a much faster lap when reduced power kicked in : I am getting an intermittent 276e code. Reads as Cylinder 8 injector not present. First few times it came on no loss in power but the last run of the day on my best lap as i was going into 10a lost the power. Anyone have ideas on this one? I think it?s a faulty injector. But could be a lose wire from the e85 kit install. Will find out soon. Back to lap times. Looking at theoretical times I should be around a 1:33 if I can string everything together. This is blistering fast I feel for this car with NA power. The HARDmotorsport Splitter performed as expected and beyond. I know it really working cause we are going to have to add addition Support in the middle since it?s started to bend a little bit. It sits about 8 inches in front of the bumper and being mounted to the frame this is a solid kit huge shout out to them! On the E85 Note. The smell is awesome and the power is felt. However the biggest benefit to me was cooling. The car was run hard and for full 30 Mom sessions for 2 days for almost 7 hours of track time. First day was in the mid 80s and the second was mid 70s. Car never was about 200 on water and 255 on oil. Another huge shout out to @[ryan@afd-usa.com] for their product.

This is a great build. I was looking to get a rear view camera myself. How do you power it?

Anybody do this yet?
http://www.bimmerworld.com/Engine/BM...it-E9X-M3.html Seems like a nice upgrade if it works as described. I really want to see the install instructions.

This is very interesting. But its funny that they say its a quick 5 min. install after the housing is removed.
For those who don't know, removing that oil filter housing is a big PITA, and takes about 1.5-2 hours. "This Oil Cooler Diverter Valve quickly remedies this issue by making the cooler full-flow. It diverts all oil through the cooler and lines for maximum cooling strategy. This will typically bring down stubborn oil temps 30+ degrees on tracked engines with the stock cooler. Once the housing is removed this is a quick 5 minute install into the factory S65 oil filter housing. This is not recommended for street cars without the addition of a performance inline thermostat. Drive conservatively and allow extra time for the oil to reach optimal temp (>150 degrees"

I'd like a more in-depth explanation as to how the cooler is not "full flow" already.
Does it simply speed up oil circulation through the cooler because it isn't slowed down going through the thermostat? 30° is a lot...

They are talking about bringing down stubborn oil temps 30+ degrees on tracked engines with the stock cooler.
What about aftermarket oil coolers? As far as I know aftermarket oil coolers only help to cool the engine oil sooner during cool down laps, but don't necessarily prevent engine oil from getting hot.
