In regards for the vibrating... For example, on my Evo 9, I ran a Voltex Type-5-V, which would shimmy left and right until it reached a certain speed, where the wing stabilized. This although had something to do with the mounting type, where it was end plate mounted.

Although I don't see that ever happening with the GTS/GT4 style ones since they are much smaller in size and have solid mounting bases.

car is back at the storage unit but i'll get out there and take pics of the mounting. i don't think overfisted holes is the issue

there's no scoring of paint or any other indication that the mount itself is moving around on the trunk lid. it's just the trunk lid itself flexing a good bit, even with a 3x5x3/8" aluminum plate underneath it.

i might have hilariously miss read your statement then.. you mean the wing is flexing on your trunk? cause i thought you said you wing was literally moving.

yeah, the trunk lid itself is flexing, and given the height of the burkhart risers it allows the top of the wing to move by a considerable amount.

the trunk underside in mine looks like it does in this photo, complete with notched ribs.

Fellas... kind of an oxymoron here but I'm looking for street pads for my AP 9668....

I do drive on the street so I don't want to always drive around with the track pads in.

Anyone running a decent pad for street?

This; I just put in a new set of Ferodos DS2500's... Lasted about 4 track days and 1500 miles street driving (mostly highway so not much pad used). Fronts only, rears are still 50-60%.

Great on track, and very powerful on street .

I’ve also subbed them in for track pads when my race pads got low at the track. They wear quick on the track, but they do fine for a hybrid. Good choice of pad, especially if you’re using with dsUNO.

I remember cleaning my wheels with stock pads also, so the difference might not be earth shattering (Ferodo to stock). Obviously, after a track day your wheels are covered with pad dust.. and rubber bits from your tires

BTW; I did use dedicated track pads before, could not stand the squealing. These don't make any noise, and that peace of mind is worth the price.
My wife can drive the M3 to work next day when I am back from the track, and nothing is different.

Yeah I plan on running dedicated pads. I have PFC 331/332 combo waiting to go in.

Ferodo DS2500 dusts a lot, but on the street, especially on a really big kit, it's going to dust less just from way less heat buildup, or at least that's my theory. It's significantly better than stock pads/rotors on my car with the STR40 front kit though you do eventually dust it up it's not "three hard stops and go to car wash" dust like the stock pads

Unless you have anti-knockback springs..then it just dusts forever.

I use the Ferodos on the track too.. Just did Thompson Motorsports Park on Tue and did not have any brake fade or issues. There is a long straight where you come to a hairpin at aprox 120 + MPH, so brakes are used... and I brake hard, don't feather them at all.

Granted the rest of the track is kinda twisty so you don't brake that hard, I guess they have time to cool off.

Running a less aggressive pad in the rear was recommended to me by several professionals- Essex and Cobalt Friction.

I enjoyed ferodo dsUNO for a while. Loved the pad. No complaints for a race pad besides some chunking when it gets to backing plate thickness.

Switched to Cobalt Friction and I run their XR1 pads up from and XR3 pads in the rear. I tend to leave my rear pads in for the street (lazy) but swap the fronts to Ferodo DS2500s.

The theory on track is you want a less aggressive pad in the rear becaue when you brake, there is weight shifting off of the rear and you can lock up the rear brakes before the front, creating some imbalance. Makes sense on paper and I haven’t deviated from that advice.

So...my lexan windshield has been bowing a bit (actually it happens with a loud bang) at 120mph+. So, I need to add some sort of brace. Any ideas that will not be too visually distracting?

I know places like Jegs sell NASCAR-style windshield brace kits. That said, those probably fall into the visually distracting category...

Maybe two small diameter aluminum rods wrapped in a soft black velour. With dual rods you could probably get away with smaller diameter and thereby less distracting.
