Rainy thunderhill day. PS4S and full aero make for an interesting combination to say the least.

Only the drivers side but these tires have had a strange life on two different suspension and alignment setups, some 38-degree mornings, and also flipped on the rim, so not sure I can make a conclusion on it.

The conclusion is the tire's life has concluded.

Back in the Jurassic period, I had a set of full tread depth RA-1s as rain tires. One size narrower than the regular race tires. Never had to use them...

Hoosier wets are fun. They feel like soft gum erasers. So squishy.

I mounted a set up and almost immediately removed them. You cant see shit with them and they vibrate a lot. I made very solid mounting points for them as well.

That’s a bummer to hear. I have a set

I’ll see about alternative mounting solutions. Guessing you mounted directly to a carbon panel? Any rubber in there to assist with vibration?

Made aluminum panels to replace the oem mirror location. Then bolted the mirror base to that. Also the arms on the mirror are so short that you can't really see the passenger mirror. I came up with a way to extend them but wasnt happy with how they looked/performed overall. They are just sitting here in my office as an expensive paperweight now.

When is a good rule of thumb to ditch a set of tires due to heat cycles and age? I've got about 3 track weekends and coming up on 2 years for this set of Continental ExtremeContact Sports. They still have plenty of tread and could go another weekend or two at the track, but they've also sat outside both winters since I don't have a garage.

Generally, you go by feel, unless the tires are actually extremely old or have been subject to extreme weather cycles outside of their operating range.

I need to mount my gt4 wing better.

Does anyone have some detailed pics of what they did to their trunk to secure the mounting points?

BBK question - is it necessary to replace the rotor HAT?
what would indicate the need to replace it?

No, not unless it's damaged. Ring + new hardware is all you'd need.

Having spare rotors is always nice. I ordered new rings and included hats as well so I have a backup in case something unexpectedly cracks.

I wonder if the hats are symmetrical minus markings.

My Schirmer wing came with 4 metal tubes that I JB welded to the underside of the trunk, bolts go through those, seems pretty sturdy, will try and find some pictures.

You could get the Girodisc replacement rings instead:

https://girodisc.com/380x35mm-replac...tor-rings-d52/

Contact Adam at buybrakes though

He will get them to you for less than the $900 advertised everywhere

It was the same part number for the ST hats when I ordered them. The stickers are there when they come with rings.
