Dyno results 353 RWHP
I just had my car dyno'ed this past Saturday (at the BMW club meet at Carbconn in Kirkland, WA) and was wondering if 353 rwhp sounds about right for a car with MS Filter, Fabspeed HFC + x-pipes and AP exhaust?
I will scan and post the dyno sheet soon. Sorry forgot to add it was done on a dyno jet with SAE corrections |

Sounds just like mine with BMC air filter, Powerchip Tune, and Akrapovic full exhaust. Dyno jet along with SAE correction also. DCT. Dyno'd in 5th gear.

Hey Pak317 - I was there yesterday too with the other AW e92 M3...I was the guy that pulled a 341hp @ 8200 rpm's...with just a rear Dinan muffler mod and MS air filter. You were 12hp more than me and that seemed to be about right given your Fabspeed xpipe & HFC's...I guess it could have been 5-7hp higher, but I think you are right in the ballpark of where you should be.
Would love to hear others chime in...I know there has been a ton of discussion about the types of dyno's used and how they really vary. Can folks comment on the type we used yesterday? (dynojet w/SAE corr) |

BTW - our ambient air temp was about 72 degrees...I know that can make a difference. We were also very close to sea level in elevation.

Pumper206 - if you were on the same dyno as us in Kirkland, I would think you would have been higher than that...I was 341hp with only rear Dinan mufflers (Dinan claims +6hp) and the MS filter (+5hp claimed).
If you have the rear mufflers, and filter, + upgraded xpipe (+10 claim) and a Powerchip tune (+10-20hp), I would think you would be in the 360's on the same dyno....hmmmm |

If you guys dynoed at Carbconn in Kirkland, I dynoed 352whp with my Fabspeed HFC's and resonated x-pipe, Eisenmann muffler, MS filter, and stock software back on Oct 3, 2009.

Besides that I believe everyone's car is a little different from one another. All depends on who built the motor, how you break in the car, and how you drive the car on a regular basis. Another member dyno'd his car same day as I did mine and he only came in at the low 300's i.e. 305-307(if my memory serves me correctly). But, I agree w/you 349 is not that spectacular. I'll be posting my dyno sheets very soon. If I remember correctly, my baseline dyno came in at 339. That was Pre-Tune. Post-tune was 349. |

^^ For sure. I'm gonna have carb connections install my exhaust for me as well. I'll dyno once before exhaust install to see if there are any gains from my previous session(want to see if there are any gains via ECU Adaptations). Then I'll dyno one more time after exhaust install. Excited to see what the results will be. I'm trying really hard, tho, not to get caught up in the numbers game. I'm more interested in real world results. I may invest in one of those Vbox thing-a-majiggers. I dunno, we'll see....
BTW, those are some great numbers you posted on the Dyno. Good job . |

Sorry for the late reply guys - been stupid busy with work.
I Fen, I remember you and was nice meeting you. I dunno, I guess I was just a little disappointed with my results - probably to optimistic with my expectations? I know I should have done a dyno before my mods but was kind of expecting to have about 360 rwhp. Still haven't had a chance to scan my dyno sheet. Will do it today for sure though. |
