Still would like to see some lap times b4 I pass too much to MB. Looks like a great car but want to see how it holds up at the track. That's where this car(M3) really holds its own against most. They're all great cars and opinions vary.

Surprised it took 20 posts for someone to point out the 500 pound gorilla in the room.

True. But I think it is too much to expect pro-BMW threads on MB/Audi forum & vice versa

I have to say that technically, the least appealing to me is the RS5. It´s basically a way worse M3 with all wheel drive that has a worse engine and understeers even though it has a new trick differential. It might be great looking, but I am not the guy compromising handling and feel for looks.
The Merc on the other hand has something to it. And that is A MASSIVE displacement. No arguing about that. Plus it makes a hell of a noise. |

Interesting if the Lexus ISF were thrown in to the mix.
M3 for me hands down, give me a 6MT any day. Not sure about the performance exterior mods, the exhaust does sound great though.

I'm really liking the C63 (would like it in black--don't like the Honda Accord C pillar)...funny story, there was a C63 sedan at Mercedes of Annapolis, and the salesman had said that this guy wanted it, but he couldn't fit into the seats. I told the salesman, that dude could of used that as motivation to get in shape... |

Good for the competitors. Maybe BMW will go much mroe lightweight with the same power in the next M3. 1M sales seem to show that there are quite a few people interested in that combo.

Not really. P-car lacks practicality and rear seats which all these cars have in common and it is their one of the big selling points.

RS5 looks the best (most subdued). AMG has too many jagged edges and looks way too tuner. M3 is looking a little long in the tooth now. M3 is probably the most balanced and the safest choice, but wow...that RS5 really tugs at my heart.

Why do people say the RS Audi's always look understated or subdued?
The air intakes are almost comically big, the oval exhausts are enormous and that diffuser stands out like buggery. Not to mention all the Christmas lights all over it and the enormous wheels/brakes. Good looking car, just wish the window lines matched the roof line. that kink between the C and B pillar stops the flow.

It's a nice try, but too late. While the C63 coupe is competing with the E9x era M3, there is a new F3x M3 already in the works. If you want to be #1 you can't be responding and playing catch up, you need to be the leader.
