Custom paint
I'm looking to get a custom paint job for my next M3. I'm checking with BMW to see what they can do from the factory even though the initial answer was only what they offered on the purchase order form. I'd like to get a Le Mans Blue metallic, but matte instead of glossy. Anyone have any insight in this matter? If not from the factory, does anyone know a good place in Germany to get this kind of work done?

If doing a factory order, BMW will consider certain non-M3 standard paint selections, but typically it would from a palate of colors offered on other vehicles. The cost for US spec custom paint, if approved, is an additional $5,000.
You would likely be limited in matte colors though. Have you considered a matte wrap? From a previous thread, there is a shop in Germany that apparently will do a vinyl wrap (and probably others shops exist). With luck, someone else from Germany will chime in with the contact information from that thread. Good luck!

I was told that Individual paint was absolutely not allowed for military sales. When I get back to the States I'm going to wrap my LMB E90. I think it's gonna look pretty sweet. I might even roll with black wheels for once.

quality_sound is right. No individual program available through military sales. You can however convince your dealer in States to get individual order. The reason they don't do individual orders in States is that there is no standarized ordering database like there is for stock cars. Salesmen have to input every option individually and manually to include the paint, leather, options, etc. and then forward the form on. BMW NA doesnt really offer Individual program for that reason (negligence on salesmen part during ordering would be their responsibility).

Looks like I don't need to worry about it any more. I like the Jerez Black now. The other idea I had would still look awesome, but I'm passing that up until the car actually needs a paint job...perhaps in 5 years...until then, it's time to go G-Power shopping!

Jerez Black is a good choice/color... It's Black at night but in the sunlight/on a bright day outside, it has a hint of dark dark dark midnight blue... Check it out here...

I talked to Military sales and unfortunately getting a individual color isnt possible. You can however get individual parts (ie. dash, trim, entry board) but thats it.
